Going Co-ed
Miss Manners may not agree that guests of the opposite sex should be invited to pre-nuptial parties, but these days - anything goes. If the bride's best friend is Jim, perhaps a gender-neutral festivity is not out of the question.

Margarita Mayhem
Frosty, frozen concoctions are the stars of a laughter-filled bridal, bachelor or co-ed party. Plug-in frozen beverage carts do all the hard work; in fact, they even come with drink mixes, cups and color-coordinating skirts.
Book it: The Big Chill 209-1810

Wine Tastings
Wine lovers will rejoice when they're invited to a grape-themed night out. Upcoming events at All Corked Up include a Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Tasting on July 23; Leona Valley Wine Pairing Dinner on July 24; World of Whites A-Z Wine Tasting on July 30; The Art of Blending, Meritage & Beyond Wine Tasting on August 6; and a Paso Robles Wine Tasting Event on August 13. Most tasting events start at $20 per person and new events are added to ACU's calendar regularly.

Great Spots to "Outsource"...
When it comes to planning a bachelor, bachelorette party - or a rehearsal dinner - there's enough to do already. Why add cooking and cleaning to the list? These restaurants offer unique, delicious fare - plus plenty of space.

Salt Creek Grille
A private room is available, but the gorgeous patio is where you'll want to be on a warm summer's night. Delicious food combined with a killer bar selection make Salt Creek a popular choice for those who are choosey; you'll want to book this spot early. Pre-set menus are available; 222-9999 www.saltcreekgrille.com

Presidente Mexican Grill and El Chaparral
If you need to accommodate a large crowd, say - 175 guests - these are the restaurants for you. Choose from a traditional sit-down menu or create a personalized buffet feast complete with hors d'oeuvres, salads, entrees and desserts. They'll even color coordinate the space to fit your theme; El Chaparral 252-5599 Presidente Mexican Grill 297-7244

New Moon
One of Santa Clarita's newest, and best-reviewed, restaurants also serves as an ideal place for your event. The "Asian with a flare" cuisine really is outstanding, but the gorgeous interior will be what woos brides to New Moon; 257-4321

Tip from a Pro
Creatively-themed showers and bachelor/ette parties are usually the most fun. If the couple plans to go to Hawaii, plan a luau shower. A girls-only tea party with finger sandwiches allows people to dress up for a change. Invitations should be sent two to three weeks ahead of the party. Include e-mail as well as a phone number for RSVPs.
