ESCAPE Theatre's "Li'l Abner" will have You Laughing & Stomping your Feet
ESCAPE Theatre invites you to attend "Li'l Abner" the musical at The Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center for shows on January 29, 30, 31 and February 1. The musical is based on Al Capp's comic strip - a rousing comedy, political satire and a tale of young love.
It's a typical day in Dogpatch, USA, and the local Hillbillies are up to their usual shenanigans. Beautiful Daisy Mae is pining after strong, handsome Li'l Abner, but he would rather go fishing. Dogpatch is threatened, and Lil Abner goes to Washington to try and save their town, the Sadie Hawkins Day Race and the Dogpatch way of life! The show is a foot-stomping musical that features 295 youth and teens from the SCV. Enjoy a live orchestra, colorful costumes, great choreography and crazy characters in this fun, cartoon musical brought to life.

Set Sail for "South Pacific" with CTG
Running Saturday, January 24 to Saturday, February 21, "South Pacific" is the iconic Broadway musical that's set on a South Pacific island during World War II. This show has it all: singing, dancing, laughter, love stories, happiness and heartbreak. This story reminds us that sometimes we have to make sacrifices to make the world a better place.
On a South Pacific island during World War II, Ensign Nellie Forbush, a spunky nurse from Arkansas, falls in love with French planter Emile de Becque. When Nellie learns that the mother of Emile's children was an island native, she refuses Emile's proposal of marriage, unable to overcome the prejudices with which she was raised. Meanwhile, the strapping Lt. Joe Cable falls in love with a Tonkinese girl named Liat, but he, too, denies himself a future due to the same fears that haunt Nellie. When Emile accompanies Joe on a dangerous mission that claims Joe's life, Nellie chooses to embrace a future with Emile and his children, thus confronting and conquering her prejudices.
