Statement of the obvious: Santa Clarita is full of golf-themed fundraisers. That's why we heart Carousel Ranch for dropping the "olf" and adding a

bullet-filled "un" to the end of that "g" at their first Trap Shoot.

City slickers and dirt lickers alike came together in the name of firing rifles for a good cause, including Affordable Quality Moving & Storage owner Casey Kirkman, Santa Clarita Concrete's Wayne Crawford and Eric Stroh (here with daughter Jolie), Randal Winter of Randal G. From guns to trivia... What SCV hairdresser believes that she missed her chance at being "the female Donald Trump" because she didn't attend college?

Here's a hint: You could totally picture her nonchalantly declaring, "You're fired."

Yup. It's Shelley Hann.

But before you start feeling oh-so-sorry for the well-groomed and decidedly un-combed-over beauty maven, let me tell you how she's turned her frown upside down. (No, not Botox, you nasty little thing.) Hann started the humbly-titled Shelley L. Hann Scholarship, and this chunk o' change is hefty enough to spring for more than beauty school.
A super-generous $2,500 will go to a Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital debutante each year.

Coincidentally, Hann was also crowned Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation's new Guild president last month at a Hollywood-themed soiree at Salt Creek Grille. Glam-teers dressed as their more-famous (but equally fab) doppelgangers, with Hann

playing the role of Demi Moore. Sadly, her accessories did not include Ashton Kutcher.

It was a month full of titles, with none so coveted as that of Man & Woman of the Year. Nominees included one of our own — the much-loved and plaid-clad Wayne Crawford — as well as Jane Bettencourt-Soto, Gigi Bost, Mary Ann Colf, Peggy Edwards, Tamara Gurney, Jorja Harris, Janice Hoskinson, Marlee Lauffer, Janice Murray, Lynne Plambeck, Donna Schmidt, Julie Sturgeon, Stephanie Weiss, Dora Zavala, Chris Ball, Kerry Carmody, Rick Patterson, Craig Peters, Tom Schmidt and Steve Sturgeon.

But in the end, Greg Amsler (of Salt Creek/Henry Mayo fame) and Nancy Coulter (of the American Cancer Society) are the big winners who get to add a shiny new license plate holder to their itemized trophy room. Our most sincere congratulations goes out to this well-deserving pair, as well as the other deserving nominees.
