Mark-Paul Gosselaar & Chris Schauble
For Santa Clarita residents, it has been a busy month.

Let's start with what we only can guess was a major swoon-fest by 30-year-old women who should, let's be honest, have gotten over their crushes by now. Seriously. Former star of "Saved by the Bell" and current hottie Mark-Paul Gosselaar recently previewed "Raising the Bar," TNT's new legal drama, with some pals (including Chris Schauble of "Today in L.A.") at All Corked Up. Now, at least, our swooning can be more age appropriate.

Another SCV wine bar made it onto the wish-we-were-there list this month, too. Valencia Wine Company hosted a four-course Winemaker Dinner at Tournament Players Club, to, as usual, rave reviews. Fine wines from Cosentino Winery were poured.

Possibly the biggest recent draw was Carousel Ranch's annual Heart of the West fundraiser. Sweetness, as usual, prevailed; there was a public engagement (Congratulations to Katie Graham and her new fiance, Kevin Pope!) and new baby bumps to rub (Congratulations to Casey and Kelly Kirkman!). And there was sweetness of the literal kind, too. The extraordinary caterer, Cindy Smith of RSVP - The Catering Company, served an exquisite meal that ended in a to-die-for cobbler, and Denise Kane of Babe's Dessert Bar wowed the crowd with her chocolate bread pudding. Taking the "cake" as the sweetest financial institution of the evening was again Mission Valley Bank, which served as the event's presenting sponsor. Reps from MVB, including Tamara Gurney, bank president and CEO and Marti Heinbaugh, vice president and branch manager, donned their finest themed duds for the night.
