SCV Puts on the Ritz to Ring in the New Year

A night of dinner, dancing and bottles of bubbly is what's on tap in Santa Clarita this New Year's Eve. Celebrations range from Valencia to Agua Dulce, and cork-popping prices vary according to how fine the food and how long the evening. Line up a sitter, because it's pretty much an adults-only night!

Robinson Ranch is hosting a "New York" theme night, where everybody in the Sycamore Bar and Grill will share in the East Coast celebration on the large screen TV while savoring such dishes as Lobster Tail, Filet Mignon and Prime Rib. Prices range from $9 to $38, and the chef will offer several different appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts. The evening begins at 5 p.m. and ends when the ball drops in New York City at 9 p.m. our time. Call for reservations.

Wolf Creek Restaurant & Brewing Co. is taking reservations for any size party to partake in their prefix three-course menu on New Year's Eve. Steak Escoffier and Grilled Swordfish with Crab Risotto will top the menu of entree selections. The mouth-watering meal begins at 5 p.m. and the last seating is at 11 p.m. The cost is $30 to $40 per person. Call for reservations.

Preciado's Ballroom will waltz into the new year with experts on hand to fine-tune your foxtrot. Dance lessons and a night with all forms of ballroom styles and a buffet dinner begin at 7:30 p.m. The bubbles may be non-alcoholic, but this joint will be jumpin' until 2 a.m. The cost is $35 per person, and individuals with or without partners are welcome. Salt Creek Grille

Salt Creek Grille will celebrate with a special menu, including Rack of Lamb and Stuffed Snapper, with a champagne toast at midnight. Guests can order off of the menu, with appetizers starting at $6 and entrees ranging up to $31. Their weekend band, Jay Bolan, is set to play from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Call for reservations.

The Roast House will host a New Year's Eve Party after the early seating, which ends at 8 p.m. Guests will be served a three-course meal, choosing entrees from a list of steak, fish, chicken and pasta dishes. The well-known band, Drop Zone, will play classic rock and various styles beginning at 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. A champagne toast at midnight is not the big ending, though. A continental breakfast begins at 1 a.m. for the latest of night owls. Call for reservations.

Mojito Caribbean Cuisine

Mojito Caribbean Cuisine has a lengthy night of Latin jazz serenading a five-course meal. Spinach Salad, topped with scallops, will start the feasting at 9 p.m. After several dishes, like Grilled Salmon over Butternut Squash and a surprise dessert with a midnight champagne toast, patrons can dance until 1 a.m. to the sounds of The Cuban Legend. The owners plan to offer coffee and snacks to ready guests for the drive home by 3 a.m. The cost is $95 per person, plus a cash bar. Call for reservations.

Origami Bistro is serving gourmet food with an open bar from 7 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. A dance floor and a DJ augment dinners of Prime Rib, Crab Legs and Filet Mignon, for a blend of palate pleasers and crowd pleasers. Cost is $150 per person. Call for reservations.

Le Chene French Cuisine is hosting a Comedy Bash in its banquet room, featuring comedians Randy Lubas and Jim Brogan. Dinner starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. when the show begins. The $100 per person price tag includes a champagne toast, party favors and noise makers in addition to dinner. Lobster Ravioli will start the meal, and guests will choose between Filet of Salmon, Rack of Lamb and Breast of Chicken. Dessert is a White Chocolate Mousse Cake. Call for reservations.

J.R.'s Comedy Club

J.R.'s Comedy Club in Marie Callender's Restaurant has a double set of dinner/comedy shows on New Year's Eve. The first seating is at 5:30 p.m. for a choice of Prime Rib, Chicken or Fish for dinner followed by the show until they lower a screen and watch the ball drop in New York City at 9 p.m. our time. The second show begins with dinner at 8:30 p.m. The cost is $58 per person and includes noisemakers and a champagne toast. Time O'Rourke and Jackie Flynn are the featured comedians.
