What's exciting: Dinner and entertainment at Persia Hookah Lounge
Why you should go: With live bands every Saturday night and belly dancing every Friday night, Persia Lounge has become quite an SCV hotspot. Check out their delish lunch buffet Monday through Saturday from 11:30am to 2:30pm and go on Mother's Day when Mom eats free with the purchase of another guest's meal. And if you've never been, go! Most SCVians have never had Persian food, so they don't know what they're missing. But we know - and we promise, you're going to love their fresh wild-caught salmon, yogurt dips, hummus, kabobs, wraps and more. Persia Lounge delicately seasons each of their menu selections to take you on an exotic culinary journey of excellence you'll love. Each dish is specially prepared for you from the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. Ask your server for recommendations based on your preferences for a meal you'll crave again and again. 259-4100

What's sweet: Solita in the Westfield Valencia Town Center Shops on the Patios
Why it's sa-weeet: Kids eat free every Monday at Solita and their lunch specials are all under $10. Solita is the "little Mexican place" we've always wanted to have in our neighborhood, with fab food and drinks, a casual vibe and price points that make it affordable to visit on a whim. We're loving the authentic recipes sourced from their chef's south-of-the-border travels that are cooked from scratch every day and kissed by the oak smoke from their wood grill. Pair your top choice with a margarita crafted from the best 100-percent blue agave highland tequilas, fresh-squeezed juices and real fruit. 291-1399

What's sweet: cookies and cakepops from CAKEgoodness
What you'll want to order: CAKEgoodness is known for their to-die-for cakes, cupcakes and cakepops (That must be why they put the "CAKE" part of the name in caps! Really - check out these gorgeous floral pops and you'll see why people drive from all over to CAKEgoodness in Newhall!) but here's the downlow: Their cookies are crazy-good, too. When you stop into the Newhall location you'll find cookies that are mere minutes old, since they sell out so fast the supply is consistently baked fresh throughout the day. These babies are big, baked to perfection and will have you addicted after your first bite. Start with the Chocolate Chip or the Sugar Cookie to discover what you're missing. 799-7510

What you're doing: On May 31, over 100 golfers will take to the links at the beautiful Tournament Players Club Valencia for a day of great golf, great food, great friends and a great cause - and you should be one of them.
Why you're doing it: For the third straight year, David Rendall, owner of RE/MAX of Valencia and Santa Clarita, will serve as the Presenting/Hope Sponsor of the Youth Project's Annual Golf Classic. Golfers will compete in an 18-hole four-player scramble as well as have a chance to win a car at the Toyota Hole in One challenge, plus gain access to a golf cart and range balls, continental breakfast, an on-course lunch, post-round buffet, awards reception and $150 credit to spend in the Nike Concept Shop.

"I am grateful that so many people come together each year to play and lend their support for an organization I believe in so deeply and that does so much for the teens of Santa Clarita. It's a great networking event, but also a perfect way to have fun," says Kathy Watterson, event co-chair, Youth Project board member and Realtor with RE/MAX of Santa Clarita.
In 2014/2015, with services on six high school and four junior high campuses, the Youth Project provided more than 8,000 hours of service to over 1,000 young adults in the Santa Clarita Valley with serious life challenges including depression, suicide, grief/loss, peer pressure and drug/alcohol abuse. Player spots $200; Foresomes $700; sponsorships are available. Log on for more info and to buy yours. www.helpnothassle.com
