Give your tween or teen girl a safe place to vent?
Judith Owens, a mentor who has an undergraduate degree in Psychology, has a blog that's safe for young girls and ladies to vent and get their questions answered. Judith talks about dignity, grace, self confidence, handling peer pressure, and doing well in school, all in hopes to encourage young ladies to be all that they can be, while keeping their innocence and integrity in tact. www.journeywithjudith.com and click on the "LTYL" tab.

Turn the iPod down?
According to Kimberly Latkovich of Audiology Associates (284-1900), long-term exposure to earbud music technology can have a devastating affect on your children's hearing by the time they reach adulthood. Luckily, it's never too late to protect your ears. Turn down that iPod, insist that the kids wear ear protection at concerts (You, too!), and have the family's hearing checked once a year.
