Santa Clarita is filled to the brim with athletic talent, so you can imagine how difficult it was to choose just one superstar from each local high school. Our sports guru, however, was up for the task.

Meet 2011's Inside SCV All Stars!

Drew Wolitarsky
Drew Wolitarsky

Drew Wolitarsky
Just a junior, Drew Wolitarsky is on his way to becoming one of the greatest wide receivers in Santa Clarita Valley history. The two-time All-Foothill League performer is expected to help lead Canyon into a battle for the Foothill League title in 2011. Last season, as a sophomore, Wolitarsky broke Canyon High's single-season receiving yardage record with 1,472 yards. He also caught 77 passes from quarterback Jonathan Jerozal. Together they have become one of the valley's most prolific quarterback-receiver tandems ever.

Nicole Antoniuk

Nicole Antoniuk
Following in the path set by her successful brother Konrad Antoniuk, Hart High senior swimmer Nicole Antoniuk has already established her own name in the swim community. Much of that has to do with a tremendous junior season in which Antoniuk won Foothill League titles in the 200-yard individual medley and the 500-yard freestyle. She broke the Foothill's 25-year-old 500 freestyle record at the Foothill League finals with a time of 4 minutes, 54.93 seconds. She took fourth place at the CIF-Southern Section Division I finals in the 500 freestyle. This year, expect more from the bullet in the pool.

Janelle Lindvall
Janelle Lindvall

Janelle Lindvall
It could be argued that Janelle Lindvall was the best softball player in the Santa Clarita Valley in 2011. Pitchers did not want to face the dangerous power hitter. When they did, the results were bad for them, good for Lindvall. She batted an outrageous .582 with 14 home runs and 35 runs batted in. Lindvall had three games in which she hit two home runs. She reached base 62.5 percent of the time. She was a big reason why West Ranch was a contender for a league title in 2011 and in her senior year, she's a reason why West Ranch will contend again.

Kristian Martinez
Kristian Martinez

Kristian Martinez
Kristian Martinez is the latest runner to help lead Golden Valley's fledgling cross country team to prominence. Last fall, Martinez finished third individually at the CIF-Southern Section Division III cross country finals - the best finish ever in school history. Martinez took his success into the spring as well, as he was a finalist in the 800-meter run and as a member of the 4x400 relay team at the Division III track and field finals. Martinez was also the Foothill League's 800 champion last year as a junior. Coming into the 2011-12 school year, the senior is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the state.

Jaclyn Clark

Jaclyn Clark
Valencia High has put a stranglehold on the Foothill League title in girls volleyball for years. But Saugus has been getting closer to knocking off the Vikings and a big reason has been the play of Jaclyn Clark. As a junior last year, Clark led Foothill with 353 kills and helped the Centurions win 28 matches. On top of that, her 341 digs led her team and were fourth most in the league. If Saugus does overcome Valencia this year, odds are a lot of the credit will go to this talented outside hitter.

Unfortunately, Valencia High's athlete, Trey Williams, was taken ill only hours before our photoshoot - and was thus unable to participate. We wish Trey, and the entire Valencia High sports community, the best of luck in the upcoming year.

Trey Williams
In a year, Valencia High's Trey Williams could be a top pick in the Major League Baseball Draft. The power-hitting third baseman has helped lead Valencia High baseball to three straight Foothill League titles. In his three varsity seasons thus far, the senior has been named All-CIF twice, was the Foothill League's Player of the Year in 2010 and has already established himself as one of the greatest players in program history. Williams' lightning-quick bat and tape-measure shots make him also one of the valley's most exciting athletes.
