RE/MAX of Santa Clarita & Valencia Creates a Culture of Community Commitment
January, 2016 - Issue #135

"RE/MAX has helped our community's homeless population for years. They are GREAT SUPPORTERS and believe in our mission to provide shelter for some of Santa Clarita's most vulnerable. People have a hard time believing that there's homelessness in 'Awesometown,' but without the kindness of businesses like RE/MAX, hundreds of our citizens, including families with children, would be exposed to the elements if not for the shelter and other homeless programs, especially this year - when El Nino could make conditions extraordinarily miserable, or even fatal."
Gary Choppe, fundraising chairman of Bridge to Home
When you're the owner of a real estate powerhouse with some of the best agents in the nation working under your roof, it could be easy to get caught up in a business-only mindset, especially during those long weeks and months without much of a break.

But for RE/MAX of Santa Clarita and Valencia Owner David Rendall, the opposite is true.

"We're a company that's committed to making the dream of homeownership come to fruition," he says. "And that means more than just handing over keys. It means being an active part of building a community that we can all be proud to call home."

One of the Santa Clarita resident's goals when purchasing the regional RE/MAX business was to use the company as a force for good. "We have so much talent in this organization," says Rendall. "These aren't just incredible Realtors®. These are incredible people. I wanted to cultivate a community of professionals who, both as a larger organization and as individuals, felt empowered to more significantly invest in the town they love, live in and work."

RE/MAX of Santa Clarita and Valencia is actively engaged in Santa Clarita nonprofit work, including events with the likes of Soroptimist International, the SCV Youth Project, Carousel Ranch, The Battle Buddy Foundation, Annual SCV Chili Cook-Off, Bridge to Home and many more. "Many of our associates donate more than money; they also deeply invest in these organizations with their time," says Rendall.
