Homemakers Furniture's Grand Opening Benefits the Michael Hoefflin Foundation
February, 2006 - Issue #16
On December 30, Homemakers Furniture hosted 450 of its closest friends (plus one mime) for a night of oohing, ahhing and, our favorite: shopping.

The evening marked the first public display of the new 100,000 square foot facility (the largest of its type in the state), which features hundreds of "stages" boasting contemporary, traditional, country and rustic furniture in a wide range of price-points.

Owners Tim and Julie Wickman were presented with an award of appreciation from the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children's Cancer at the event. The night's festivities benefited the organization, raising $12,000 for its mission to eradicate children's cancer.

The Wickmans selected a large bronze fountain portraying a gang of happy kids as the art for the entry of the store. All funds collected from the fountain will benefit the foundation, as well.

For more than a year, Homemakers' Tim and Julie Wickman have worked with some of the finest Hollywood designers and artisans to create an entirely new way of showing off their wares.

In the end, unique habitats were created, including a Spanish hacienda, a slick Rodeo Drive store entry, an old Tucson street with shops, a French bistro, a state-of-the-art home office and home movie theatre gallery. There's even a talking moose in the log cabin area.
