•  1984 - Based on the novel by George Orwell, 1984 tells the story of Winston Smith, a cog in the giant machine state of Oceania. This ferocious and provocative adaptation is directed by Eric Clarke with showings Friday and Saturday at 8pm and matinees Saturday & Sunday at 2pm. Held at The Main in Old Town Newhall.

Saturday, March 25

•   Zonta Women in Service Celebration - This 38th annual event honors dynamic and outstanding women volunteers throughout the Santa Clarita Valley, recognizing their contributions to other nonprofit organizations that share Zonta's mission. The celebration will be held at Canyon Country Community Center.
          Time: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

•  College of the Canyons' Annual Women's Conference - Held at the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center, this year's in-person conference will feature an exciting lineup of presenters and breakout sessions designed around the theme, "Think Big, Speak Up!" The event will kick off with a welcome by Chancellor Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook followed by a leadership panel featuring Councilwoman Katrina Manning and Treasurer Marie Poindexter-Hornback from the City of Hawthorne. When elected in 2022, Manning and Poindexter-Hornback - along with City Clerk Dayna Williams-Hunter - made Hawthorne history as the first three women of color to be elected during the same election cycle in the city's 100-year history. Luncheon keynote speeches will be delivered by Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo (D-Chatsworth) and Hildy Aguinaldo, senior director and assistant general counsel at DaVita Inc. and vice president of the board of governors for California Community Colleges. Attendees will also attend breakout sessions throughout the day covering a wide range of topics, like returning to college, career changes, exploring passions and a health and wellness workshop. Admission is $35 - $25 for students and college staff with identification. Admission includes access to all events and activities and breakfast and lunch.


•  Youth Arts Showcase - In recognition of Youth Art Month, the City of Santa Clarita Youth Arts Showcase celebrates the importance of visual and performing arts for children of all ages. The seventh-annual Youth Arts Showcase, held from 11am to 3pm, includes music, dance and theater performances by local youth-based performing groups. Guests will also view artwork submitted by young artists in the Youth Arts Gallery. Bring out your inner artist at hands-on craft stations and enjoy a bite to eat from the on-site food trucks.

Saturday, March 25 to Saturday, April 8

•  Spring Fling & Egg Hunt - Gilchrist Farm's Spring Fling & Egg Hunt connects you and your crew to a wholesome day in nature - and memories that will last a lifetime.
Cuddle baby animals like goats, chicks and piglets, create cute spring crafts, take a picture with the Easter Bunny (And real bunnies!), ride the little farm train, take a wagon ride, learn how to throw an ax, shoot arrows, explore the Giant Slide and much more. And whatever you do: book your egg hunt tickets now! Egg hunts are held at 10am, 12pm and 2pm and are divided by age groups so that every child has an opportunity to find treat-filled eggs. You can select the difficulty level that's the best fit for your child - from eggs that are in plain sight to ones that are almost fully hidden. The egg hunt draws families from all over Los Angeles County, so book your reservations now - it often sells out.

•   Ventura County Certified Farmers Market - The VCCFMA markets bring you the freshest local fruits, vegetables, bakery items, eggs, nuts, honey, potted plants and cut flowers, all at the peak of season and direct from responsible California family farmers. Held at College of the Canyons in Parking Lot 5 from
8am to 12pm.
          Time: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Every Wednesday

•  Canyon Country Farmers Market - Local farmers will bring out the freshest seasonal fruits and vegetables, including organic, baked goods, flowers, herbs, cheeses and prepared foods every Wednesday evening. Held at the Canyon Country Community Center from 4pm to 8pm.
