•  Canyon Theatre Guild presents "My Fair Lady" - The show has been called one of the greatest musicals ever produced, and it features a host of singable tunes, energetic dance numbers and lavish costumes. Almost everyone is familiar with the story of the cockney flower girl, Eliza Doolittle, who is transformed into a "lady" by the brilliant, crotchety Professor Henry Higgins. It is a timeless, enchanting musical for audiences of all ages.

Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm, with matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 pm from May 23 through June 28. Opening night champagne reception begins at 7:00 pm. The video discusses the discovery of an additional fault system underlying the Los Angeles area, and brings up the possibility that "The Big One" could very well overwhelm emergency service, leaving us to our own devices to ensure the safety of our families. Ed Bushman, LAFD's Battalion Chief for Disaster Preparedness, will present steps each of us should take to prepare for this eventuality. Church members will then take up a collection to support the efforts of this environmental group. One of two natural river systems remaining in Southern California, the Santa Clara was added in 2005 to a national list of most endangered rivers (www.americanrivers.org). A major habitat restoration project is currently underway at the Hedrick Ranch Nature Area. The project involves the planting of riparian vegetation on areas once used for grazing, and for the removal of exotic plants.
