•  To Kill A Mockingbird - Set in Alabama during the Great Depression, To Kill a Mockingbird follows the journey of Jem and Scout Finch, whose father has been appointed to defend Tom Robinson, a black man framed for a crime he didn't commit. As the trial progresses, Jem and Scout witness their community in a tense tug of war between justice and racism. This timeless classic compels us to take an honest look at our nation's past and our moral responsibility to each other.

•  "Kids Create Art" Festival - Youa€™re Invited to SCVi Charter Schoola€™s Annual a€śKids Create Arta€ť Festival, join K through 12 learners, parents, staff and the community at SCVia€™s annual open-house Festival. Created, planned, organized and executed by SCVia€™s dedicated community of under-18 learners (Yes! Even the staff dunk tank will be run by a collective of SCVi students. Watch out, teachers!), this event is a snapshot of the learner-driven pedagogy that has made SCVi one of Santa Claritaa€™s most well-respected schools. This year, classrooms will be turned into art galleries and projects that are part of the core curriculum will be on proud display. Student performers will share their talents and a miniature, excerpted Civil War reenactment will add a historical element to the day. Theatrical excerpts from the a€śBard is Backa€ť will also be enjoyed, as well as a Nori Korean Traditional Percussion performance. Food trucks, a hands-on reptile show, martial arts demonstration, carnival booths and fun for kids will be available, along with handcrafted goods made by learners selling their wares in the coordinating Young Entrepreneurs Fair.
