•  Santa Clara River Cleanup - PLEASE HELP! - A portion of the Santa Clara River has fell victim to illegal dumping. This dumping contaminates our water supply and devastates the surrounding wild life. Waste Management has donated a large bin to the cleanup project. Volunteers are asked to bring lunch, snacks, water gloves and hand wipes and wear long pants, boots, sunscreen and a hat. Carpool is suggested. DIRECTIONS: From Valencia, take the I-5 Freeway to the SR-14 Freeway NORTH. Exit Soledad Canyon Road (the first exit past Sand Canyon). When you get to Soledad Canyon, turn right. Go 2.1 miles to CAPRA Road. Turn right (if you reach a tunnel, you've gone too far). Go downhill on Capra Road. We will park at the bottom of the road.

•  Support Box City! - Valencia United Methodist Church and Pastor John Shaver welcome Rabbi Mark Blazer to join in worship on Sunday, September 29th at 9 and 10:30 a.m., in support of the ecumenical project, Box City. The Pastor and Rabbi will share their experiences from their night in Box City during both worship hours. Box City is an interfaith event that will take place from Saturday, September 28 at 3 p.m. to Sunday, September 29, at 9 a.m. at Bridgeport Park. Box City raises awareness about the many homeless families in our own community, and raises money to support Family Promise of SCV. Participants set a goal to raise $100 ($200/family) in pledges and contributions and sleep overnight in a cardboard box "home" as a resident of Box City.
