•  A Piece of My Heart - This powerful, true drama is about six women who went to Vietnam: five nurses and a country western singer booked by an unscrupulous agent to entertain the troops. The play portrays each young woman before, during, and after her tour in the war-torn nation and ends as each leaves a personal token at the memorial wall in Washington.

Saturday, October 7

•  Circle of Hope's Annual Afternoon Tea - Enjoy a relaxing afternoon with friends with music and entertainment silent auctions and unique, thematic centerpieces. Each "tea table" is decorated for a different theme and guests will be treated to traditional tea savories. Bring along your "other half" - there will be an exclusive Gentlemen's Corner serving robust luncheon fares. Seats are limited.

•  Frozen Sing-Along - Frozen Sing-Along is a magical event to spark young guests' imaginations! Guests will watch a special sing-along version of Disney's Frozen, meet and greet with their favorite Frozen princesses, and enjoy crafts and activities. Princess costumes are highly encouraged. Showings at 1pm and 5pm.

•  Pumpkin Patch at Limoneira - Enjoy fall fun on the farm with the Pumpkin Patch at Limoneira Ranch Saturdays and Sundays in October from 10am to 5pm. Guests will enjoy a five-acre corn maze, pony rides, face painting, the country store, pumpkin chucker, food booths, a petting zoo, hay pyramid and maze, wagon rides, music and entertainment.

•  The Wedding Social Oktoberfest - The Wedding & Event Society and Wolf Creek Brewery invite you to join them in the World Famous Spiegeltent to grab a brew while their talented vendors help you say "I Do". Held at Wolf Creek Brewery, 25108 Rye Canyon Loop in Valencia.

•  17th Annual Bow-Wows & Meows Pet Fair - 17th Annual Bow-Wows & Meows Pet Fair is a Free, Fun-filled event for the whole family that celebrates pets, encourages animal awareness and promotes pet adoptions.

There will be over 200 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens available for adoption at the reduced price of $30 (fee includes spay/neuter, microchip & vaccines!), a Fun Dog Show, Food Truck court, shopping, low cost vaccine vouchers, entertainment, license renewals, raffles, artisans and more!

•  CalArts Wild Beast Concert Series 2017 - CalArts​ will kick off the 2017 - 2018 season of its critically-acclaimed Wild​ ​Beast​ ​Concert Series​ with a free, outdoor performance by two large and experimental bands defining the future of jazz: The​ ​Daniel​ ​Rosenboom​ ​Octet​ and​ ​theBABAOrchestra​. •  Rubber Ducky Festival - Join Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers, Inc for their 15th Annual Rubber Ducky Festival at Bridgeport Park in Valencia. There will be local talent and performers, plus a "Kid Zone" with rock climbing, face-painting, bouncer, games, activities and more. Adopt a duck today!

•  Santa Clarita Oktoberfest - The Santa Clarita Oktoberfest is our tribute to the original Oktoberfest held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. The original festival is a 16-day festival with more than 6 million people from around the world attending the event every year. A variety of German and German-style beers will be poured in our Crystal Palace Flemish Spiegeltent, adding to the authentic ambiance. German foods, music, and games will complete your Munich-in-the-Santa Clarita Valley experience.

•  Over The River and Through the Woods - Nick visits his grandparents in Hoboken, NJ every Sunday for dinner. But what lengths will his grandparents go to keep him from moving to Seattle? As they plan blind dates and tempt him with never-ending, mouthwatering meals, Nick has to evaluate what is important in life and learn to count the cost of his decisions. This show promises gut-wrenching laughter and a story that pulls on your heartstrings and causes you to consider, along with Nick, what matters most in life.

•  NorthPark Trunk or Treat - NorthPark Community Church invites you to join them for TRUNK OR TREAT featuring food trucks, music and free & safe trick or treating. Held at 28310 Kelly Johnson Pkwy in Valencia.

•  CLC Harvest Festival - Join Christ Lutheran Church for the 2017 Harvest Festival - this free event features a petting zoo, pony rides, facepainting, crafts, a chili cookoff, surfboard simulator, dj and more! Non-scary costumes are welcome, however not necessary.

•  Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest and Spooky Family Fair - The 10th Annual Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest and Spooky Family Fair will be held at the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center. Watch certified SCUBA dive teams create underwater masterpieces in the depths of the Aquatics diving pool at 6:00 p.m. and enjoy crafts, games and trick or treating around the pool. An underwater camera will capture all the action so spectators can watch the dive teams' progress live on a big screen while participating in various festive activities. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in Halloween costumes.

•  Sacra et Profana - Symphony of the Canyons presents "Sacra Et Profana" featuring music of the church, the world and the spheres.

•  Purple Walk of Strength - Registration for the Purple Walk of Strength is now open! GET PURPLE & Have Fun at the DVC of SCV's annual family-friendly fundraiser to help raise funds and awareness for domestic violence. There will be food, swag bags, and more! Wear white so you can see that purple powder, or buy a DVC t-shirt for $10 at the event. Everyone is welcome! Registration starts at 7am, Race begins at 9am. Held at College of the Canyons Cross Country Trails (26455 Rockwell Canyon Rd) Registration is $20 online or $25 the day of the race, $60 per team of 4.

•  Circus Vargas - Goggles, gears and gadgets set the stage for Circus Vargas' 2017's retro-futuristic production, SteamCirque - happening at Westfield Valencia Town Center Thursday, October 26 to Monday, October 30! Join them on a journey of fantastic proportions where children of all ages will marvel at the wacky and wonderful cast of characters that come alive in this exciting steampunk, science- fiction fantasy inspired circus odyssey! Arrive 45 minutes early for an entertaining, interactive pre-show celebration, where kids can create their own magic under the big top, learning circus skills such as juggling, balancing and more! Meet and mingle with the entire cast after each performance. Capture the fun by posing for pics or selfies with your favorite cast members, all part of an unforgettable Circus Vargas experience!

•  Via Bash - Celebrating its members, the Valley Industry Association (VIA) invites guests to step back in time to the Hollywood Canteen era "where the greatest generation danced with the most beautiful girls in the world." Relive the glamour of old Hollywood while listening to the musical talents of The Summit, a pop, jazz and swing quartet. Proceeds from the event benefit the VIA Education Foundation, Connecting to Success program. Held at Hyatt Regency Valencia.

•  Painted Turtle Hoedown BBQ - The Painted Turtle's North Los Angeles County Regional Advisory Board hosts the 12th annual BBQ fundraiser at The Painted Turtle camp in Lake Hughes. Community members are invited to attend this celebration which offers an exclusive tour of the campground, delicious food and cocktails, live music and a boisterous live and silent auction with prizes ranging from exclusive Paul Newman memorabilia, adventurous trips, fine jewelry, home packages, autographed sports memorabilia and more! All proceeds from the event will benefit The Painted Turtle camp for children with serious medical conditions. With the support of donors and fundraisers like the BBQ, campers and families always attend free of charge.

•  VUMC Trunk Or Treat - This free event features safe family fun for kids through sixth grade including crafts, music, candy and a maze! Non-scary costumes only, please. Held at Valencia United Methodist Church (25718 McBean Pkwy in Valencia).

Sunday, October 29

•  500th Anniversary of the Reformation - Join Christ Lutheran Church for one of three special Reformation Sunday services (8a, 9:30a and 11a) that include a version of the German Mass that would have been celebrated by Martin Luther, complete with prayers and music from Luther's time - at 11a CLC will also celebrate the 9th graders being confirmed in the faith.
