•  Super Bowl Sunday - At time of print, we don't know who's playing - but if we're being honest, we don't really care. We're just excited to have a non-political reason to yell at the TV. Place your bets (Our wager currency: M&Ms.), order takeout early and maybe hop on a Zoom call to complain about the half-time show. Super Bowl LV is going to be memorable even if the game's a bore and we're here for all the cyber-office pools, SCV restaurant specials and social-media posts about something other than the news of the day. Click the link below for current standings!

•  Valentine's Day - May we humbly suggest that you give your friends and neighbors a "Heart Attack" this Valentine's Day? "Heart Attacks" are like toilet papering a house... but with love. (And legality.). Generally, they're a surprise (Hence, the name.) - and they can take a variety of forms. Tape paper hearts with sweet messages to a front door, leave heart balloons on a mailbox, drop homemade goodies on the porch... you get the idea. With kids missing out on traditional Valentine exchanges at schools, this is an especially good activity to do with, and for, the younger set.

•  Mardi Gras - We admit that we didn't know much about Mardi Gras beyond the stunning costumes, vibrant parades and... beads. But now that we're seeking celebratory excuses, it's on our radar despite Santa Clarita being 2,000 miles away from New Orleans. Turns out that Mardi Gras is called Fat Tuesday for a good reason - because it's when you're encouraged to eat and drink all the things you plan to give up for Lent. This holiday had us at "eat and drink all the things," which makes for a good excuse to order local Cajun food, buy or make a King Cake and whip up the un-official cocktail of New Orleans: The Hurricane.
