•  Encore Chorale of Santa Clarita - Spend the spring in song with the Encore Chorale of Santa Clarita! Beginning January 12, Encore ensembles are non-auditioned ensembles for adults 55+. No experience is required - just a love for singing and the desire to join a welcoming community of fellow music lovers. Sing choral classics from Va Pensiero to choral highlights from The Sound of Music in four-part harmony and experience joy in singing! The ensemble meets weekly from 4:00 to 5:45 PM starting January 12 at Newhall Church of the Nazarene, 23857 The Old Road, Newhall, CA, 91321.

Friday, March 1 to Sunday, March 31

•  Flair Cares Food Drive - The 9th Annual Flair Cares Food Drive, Hang Up Hunger, March 1 - 31, 2024. The
drive benefits the Food Pantry and the nonprofit Santa Clarita Grocery. Flair Cleaners is matching
donations up to 250 pounds of food donated by customers at each location. Community members should bring unopened, canned or boxed food to any Flair Cleaners - Valencia. Do not bring any food past its expiration date or packaged in glass. Customers using the company's Free Pickup and Delivery service can leave bags or boxes of food they wish to donate with their pickup orders in March.

Monday, March 11 to Sunday, June 16

•  The Butterfly Encounter - Gilchrist Farms invites you to stroll through a tent of beautiful flowers hosting live butterflies flying all around you. Hold some nectar on a sponge to attract a butterfly to land near you! Enjoy these amazing pollinators while learning about what they do for farms and flowers! Throughout the duration of the Butterfly Encounter, we will host different species including Painted Ladies, Monarchs, Cabbage Whites and more. The Butterfly Encounter is available to visit during Farm Visits 9AM-2PM on Saturdays and Sundays.

Saturday, March 16

•  Relay for Life Survivor/Caregiver Dinner - The American Cancer Society is honoring cancer survivors and their caregivers in our community.
The heart of Relay For Life, survivors and those who care for them will enjoy a celebration that includes dinner and desserts, raffles, speakers, music, photo opportunities, a luminaria slideshow and more.
Space is limited, so register as a survivor at and then email for more information and to sign up for the dinner with one caregiver/guest per survivor.

          Time: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Saturday, March 16 to Saturday, March 30

•  Gilchrist Spring Fling Egg Hunt - Gilchrist Farm's Spring Fling & Egg Hunt connects you and your crew to a wholesome day in nature - and memories that will last a lifetime. Cuddle baby animals like bunnies, goats, chicks and piglets; create cute spring crafts; take a picture with the Easter Bunny (And real bunnies!); ride the little farm train; take a wagon ride; learn how to throw an ax and shoot arrows; explore the Giant Slide and much more. Egg hunts are held at 10am, 12pm and 2pm and are divided by age groups so that every child has an opportunity to find treat-filled eggs. You can select the difficulty level that's the best fit for your child - from eggs that are in plain sight to ones that are almost fully hidden. The egg hunt draws families from all over Los Angeles County, so book your reservations now - it often sells out.

•  SENSES Neon Nights Block Party - The wildly popular SENSES Block Party brings live music, food trucks, themed activities and adult beverages to Main Street every Third Thursday from March to October. Step into a world of vibrant lights and pulsating beats at the electrifying "Neon Night Block Party." Get ready to experience a night like no other as the City of Santa Clarita transforms the block into a dazzling display of neon colors and glowing energy.

•  Virtual Online Foster Care & Adoption Orientation - Attend this one-hour virtual online orientation and learn how to become a foster parent and be the reason why siblings stay together. Email or call 661-289-4231 and a link to the virtual meeting will be sent to you.

•  Gentleman for a Cause 2024 - On March 23, Soroptimist International of Valencia will present their annual event Gentlemen for a Cause.
"Prom through the Decades," held at the Sand Canyon Country Club, is sponsored by local businesses like RE/MAX of Santa Clarita & Gateway. The proceeds from this event support two Soroptimist signature programs: Live your Dream and Dream It, Be It. The Soroptimist Live your Dream Awards assist women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects. Dream It, Be It targets girls in secondary school who face obstacles to their future success by providing them with access to professional role models, career education and the resources to live their dreams.

•  Dragon Boat Easter EggStravaganza and BBQ - Held at Castaic Lake State Recreation Area, this free community event aims to introduce the exhilarating sport of dragon boat racing to individuals of all ages and skill levels while giving back to the local community. Participants will have the opportunity to hop aboard dragon boats, learn the basics of paddling and experience the thrill of synchronized teamwork firsthand. The event includes an Easter egg hunt for kids, a barbecue and more.

•  St. Francis Dam Disaster Lecture and Bus Tour - The 2024 Annual St. Francis Dam Disaster Lecture and Bus Tour is a captivating event that delves into the history of the St. Francis Dam. The event features fascinating insights into the causes, consequences and aftermath of this significant event followed by a bus tour of the actual site of the St. Francis Dam. As you explore the remnants of this historical landmark, you will gain a deeper understanding of what unfolded and its impact on the surrounding area.
          Time: 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM

•  Valencia Trail Race - Race participants can choose to take part in a 10 kilometer, half marathon or 50k ultra distance and enjoy a journey over peaks and along ridgelines with panoramic views, into the canyons and through the hills of Valencia.
