If you've ventured outside on weekends lately, you've seen them - a growing herd of open house signs on street corners all over the Santa Clarita Valley. Just driving through your neighborhood these days, you can't miss the expanding number of for sale signs. Gone for now, it would seem, are the days of quick house sales and slim pickings for SCV homebuyers. Gone too are the days of beyond-the-asking-price bids and over-the-top profits for sellers. SCV home prices are coming down, but the question remains: How low will they go?
The city of Santa Clarita has commenced with its new residential trash franchise agreement, meaning that all trash services within city limits will be provided by Waste Management/Blue Barrel. In an effort to serve the community more efficiently, some homes may have their pickup day changed as a result of the new agreement. On the eve of February 16, Homemakers Furniture celebrated the opening of its new showroom located at 26455 Ruether Avenue with an official ribbon cutting ceremony. "The ribbon cutting seemed to make it all official," said owner Tim Wickman, "and to have the community behind us the way they are - that's what makes it all worthwhile."

The 21st Annual Home and Business Expo, presented by the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, will be under the big top once again at College of the Canyons on September 24 and 25. Expo is an excellent way for business owners to present themselves and their products to the community in conjunction with a weekend full of family fun and entertainment.
