"I'll never forget the date of my liposuction and tummy tuck," says Marie, 54. "It was on the day of the eclipse! 'Total eclipse of the fat!' And, of course, I won't forget - because I love my results."

The Santa Clarita resident had an abdominal surgery decades ago that left her stomach lumpy with scarring. "I was self conscious. My tummy was never flat, not even when I was young and skinny, and this pooch made my clothes fit poorly on top of that. As I got older, stretch marks came out of nowhere. Skin sagged. It all became just too much. I did not want to go through the best years of my life with floppy skin and scarring I couldn't exercise or diet away. I am not a big woman, but this terrible area of skin made me feel like I was carrying a lot of weight. I wanted it gone," says Marie.

Research became her focus. "I really looked around. I got a referral from a friend who's a really well-respected esthetician in the beauty industry. All signs pointed to Dr. Heller. I realized that I didn't need to drive to Beverly Hills to get a great doctor; there was one right here with all the experience and background I could ever want. I looked at every one of his portfolio befores and afters and I was wow'ed by his education," shares Marie.
All that effort was worth it; Marie is thrilled with her results. "I am so glad I went to Heller Plastic Surgery," she says. "My results are so much better than I hoped for or thought I even could have. Right now, I'm wearing jeans that I bought right before my surgery; I can't wear them unless I wear a really tight belt or they will absolutely fall off. If I don't belt or roll the waist way down, they will end up around my ankles, that is how much smaller I am - and I'm still healing a little. It's only been three months but I am so thrilled!"

"Marie's case was unique in that she had a lot of scarring from multiple abdominal surgeries. That caused skin puckering and for the muscle and fat to lay inconsistently, creating lumps. Using minimally-invasive techniques, I engaged the muscles and tissue to tighten and flatten while removing substantial loose skin. The micro-liposuction technique gives me the opportunity to really refine and carve out the waist area," says Dr. Justin Heller, board-certified surgeon and owner of Heller Plastic Surgery.

The extra attention to detail paid off. "Since I hit my 40s, I have told myself that I would do something about this 'some day.' I worked hard all my life. I deserved to feel better. I deserved to fit into my clothes. All this skin was in the way and it was weighing me down, weighing my thoughts down. I have no desire to do anything else; this was so well worth it. It's perfect! I am so happy to spend the rest of my life with a nice flat tummy!" says Marie.
