What inspired you to go into this business? My mother was done raising her kids and decided to do something for herself. My mother, Cruz has always said, "My husband thought I was crazy but I said to him, 'You watch me do it!' - and I did. Now, 28 years later, who's laughing? I was one of the first boutiques to open here in Santa Clarita."

What is the coolest aspect of the business? There are three generations of women here; "little" Adriana Cruz Farrell is coming into the business! Also, our one-on-one personalized appointments that allow clients to view wedding gowns is such a treat; the best part is that we allow cameras, so you can take pictures of yourself.

What's the most amazing product you offer? We can now monogram the bride's name and wedding date inside the gown to personalize it for her.

What does the future hold? My Daughter, Adriana Cruz Farrell wants to have her own seasonal prom store; she has been going to buying shows since she was 8 years old. She knows dresses! She plans to design, build and buy dresses - just for the prom season - so she can go back to college and finish her schooling.

What's one thing someone out of the loop would never guess about you? As manager of Cruz's Bridal, I went to Brooke's College in Long Beach. I have degrees in Fashion Merchandising and Design. I have been an advisor for the Hart School District ROP program, training and developing students for the last 12 years. My daughter, Adriana, just won a gold medal for fashion merchandising through the program. To see her win and like the fashion industry is the icing on the cake. I'm excited to see what the next generation will do with Cruz's Bridal!
