Candleman's Aquiesse Candle event

On September 24, Candleman owners Kevin and Karen Leahy hosted an informative Fall Scents event featuring the Aquiesse Candle line. Attendees also learned about fall decorating tips using candles and scents.

Pharmacy Technician Program Back by Popular Demand
College of the Canyons is, once again, offering its popular Pharmacy Technician (RX Tech) program for area residents. Classes are scheduled to begin in January 2010.

Students can complete the program in 27 weeks and gain employable skills. Since October of 2008, more than 50 students have successfully completed the RX Tech program; the program is being offered again due to the 36.1 percent expected growth in this field according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Outlook Handbook,
2008-2009 Edition.

An information meeting that will present important details about the program and how to register is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 21 in Aliso Hall, room #101 on the college's Valencia campus.

The RX Tech program is offered in collaboration with Boston Reed College and is designed for working adults. Classes will be held on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning January 23, 2010 at the College of the Canyons Valencia campus. The program costs $2,595. The fee includes books, consumable supplies, and an externship that provides real-world, practical experience.

Students must be at least 18 years of age and must have a high school diploma or its equivalent prior to externship placement. Detailed information about the program and the information meeting can be found on the Community Education website; 362-3300
