Don't Miss New Opportunities for Tax Payers
A new year is upon us, and you should start it off right! Covid changed the way we do everything - and that includes taxes. New legislation has created opportunities for taxpayers, but it requires proper filing of your return. As it stands, the 2020 tax filing deadline for personal returns is April 15, 2021 and for businesses it remains March 15, 2021. Falling behind will add unnecessary penalties on your taxes, so make your appointment today. RM Taxes & Business Solutions are not only tax preparers, but also offer a variety of business-solution services.

"My wife was involved in a serious car accident caused by someone else. I searched Google and found The Law Offices of Gerald L. Marcus - and am forever grateful that I did. Gerry and his staff walked us through every aspect of the process and gave us absolutely exceptional service along the way. In the end, he fought the insurance company and got us FOUR TIMES MORE than what they originally offered us! We are so happy to have found him and his firm and we will not even hesitate for a moment to recommend him!" - Michael Clarke via Google

Choosing the Right Agent for your Estate Plan
When it comes to estate planning, few decisions are more important than choosing the right agent - the person giving the legal authority to act on your behalf. Whether administering a trust, executor of a will or power of attorney, your agent will have significant personal and legal responsibilities.
The right agent should exhibit maturity, trustworthiness and a desire to carry out your wishes impartially. Your agent should also have your best interests and the best interests of your loved ones at heart. The right agent will be located close enough to act when the time comes, even if that means coming in from out of the area. Many people name a trusted family member who exhibits all these qualities.
Since the agents named in your estate planning documents may not act for many years or decades, it's a good idea to name someone who will be capable of acting for several years. Naming multiple successive agents will ensure that if one is not able to act, one of the others will.

How Can You Prepare for the "New Retirement?"
Today's retirees may retire from work, but they're still committed to an active lifestyle and staying involved in their communities. How can you prepare for this "new retirement?"
For starters, consider what's involved. The 2020 Edward Jones/Age Wave Four Pillars of the New Retirement study has identified four key "pillars" of retirement: health, family, purpose and finances.
So, if you're getting close to retirement, how can you best use these pillars to support a fulfilling, meaningful way of life? You'll want to take a holistic approach by asking yourself some key questions. What do you want to be able to do with your time and money? Are you building the resources necessary to enjoy the lifestyle you've envisioned? Are you prepared for the increasing costs of healthcare as you age?
By addressing these and other issues, possibly with the help of a financial professional, you can set yourself on the path toward the type of retirement that's not really a retirement at all - but rather a new, invigorating chapter of your life.
