•  Mothers Against Sexual Predators - Mothers Against Sexual Predators of California (MASP of California) and the Santa Clarita Valley Council PTA are co-sponsoring an internet safety workshop for parents. The workshop, titled "Power Over Predators", will be held on Wednesday November 14th at 6:30pm in the Multipurpose room at North Park Elementary School. The featured guest speakers will be detectives from the LA County Sheriff's Department Special Victims Unit who are also part of the FBI SAFE Team.

"Statistics show that one in seven kids will be solicited online and 34 percent will be exposed to unwanted sexual material. As parents it is important that we learn how to protect them so they can utilize the internet in a safe way," said Lena Smyth, co-founder of MASP of California.

"With so many advances on the internet many parents do not understand the new technologies that can be used to victimize our children. We are pleased to be able to offer them such valuable education," said Laurie Ender, Community Outreach Chair for the Santa Clarita Valley Council PTA.
