April, 2022 - Issue #209

Soroptimist International of Valencia Presents "Gentlemen for a Cause: an Evening in Monte Carlo"
The 11th-annual Gentlemen for a Cause: an Evening in Monte Carlo is scheduled for Sunday, May 22 - and you're not going to want to miss all the casino play, cocktails and live and silent auctions!
The proceeds from this event support Soroptimist International of Valencia's two signature programs "Live Your Dream" and "Dream It, Be It" - as well as the partners for this event, Single Mothers Outreach and Child & Family Center.
Support SCV Women & Girls
Gentlemen for the Cause is critical for the support of "Live Your Dream" and "Dream It, Be It" - two cornerstone programs for local women and teens. The Soroptimist "Live Your Dream" Awards assist women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects. "Dream It, Be It" targets girls in secondary school who face obstacles to their future success by providing them with access to professional role models, career education and the resources to live their dreams.

Child & Family Center's Taste of the Town Returns May 1
The Child & Family Center provides quality care and services to children and families in need. For over 40 years, the Center's mission has been "strengthening families today for stronger communities tomorrow." As a vibrant and mission-driven organization, the Center has grown and evolved to meet the changing needs of the communities served. Key services provided include mental health care, alcohol and drug treatment and domestic violence support. Through comprehensive prevention, early intervention, diagnostic evaluation and behavioral therapeutic services, outpatient drug and alcohol treatment - as well as domestic violence service programs for children, adolescents and adults - the nonprofit serves the Santa Clarita, Antelope and San Fernando Valleys.
One of Santa Clarita's most beloved outdoor food and wine fest community events - Taste of the Town - returns May 1 for a live, in-person afternoon experience. A vast array of local restaurants will feature sweets, savories and signature creations. Auctions and entertainment complement the day on the grounds of the beautiful Blomgren Ranch on Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita. Taste of the Town is the Child & Family Center's largest fundraiser. Over the past year, therapists and case managers continued to help over 900 children, teens and families in the community struggling with anxiety, depression, drug/alcohol abuse and domestic violence situations. Your support helps provide funding to continue to provide these crucial services. To learn more or purchase tickets, log on.
