"This ALL-DAY PARTY will have guests springing back from the COVID slump and moving non-stop with fun, wacky and downright thrilling activities. You can see how long you can ride the Mechanical Shark, test your bravery with Drop Zone and Zip Line, get rolling at the Indoor Roller Rink, test your aim at the Nerf Wars and then take in the view from the ferris wheel."
Q: After two years of restrictions and uncertainty, people are ready to celebrate. Tell us about the party the City is planning.
If ever there was a time we needed and deserved to celebrate, it is now. The city is inviting the community to come together to Party on the Pointe! The festivities will take over the George A. Caravalho Santa Clarita Sports Complex on Center Pointe Parkway - that's where the Party on the Pointe name comes from - on Saturday, April 23. This all-day party will have guests springing back from the COVID slump and moving non-stop with fun, wacky and downright thrilling activities. You can see how long you can ride the Mechanical Shark, test your bravery with Drop Zone and Zip Line, get rolling at the Indoor Roller Rink, test your aim at the Nerf Wars and then take in the view from the ferris wheel - and much more. There will also be live musical performances, food trucks and demonstrations at the Skate Park and Trek Bike Park of Santa Clarita. Best of all, the event is free. For more information, make sure to follow the City of Santa Clarita on social media.

Q: Speaking of celebrating, how is the new event series at the new Canyon Country Community Center?
The Celebrate series kicked off in April with a celebration of the Polynesian culture and, each month through September, a new culture will be showcased. Event attendees will get the chance to experience art, food, music, dance, activities and much more from around the world. Santa Clarita Sister Cities will take the stage on May 6, offering attendees a look at life in Tena, Ecuador and Sariaya, Philippines. An exploration of Indian culture then follows on June 3, followed by Greek culture on July 1. You also won't want to miss when the city Celebrates the Caribbean on August 5 and Mexico on September 2 to close out the series. This new event series is a great way to learn and experience the diverse cultures that make Santa Clarita such an amazing city!

Q: Santa Clarita is fortunate to have two amazing Farmers Markets - the one in Old Town Newhall and at College of the Canyons, any plans to add another?
As a matter of fact, the new Canyon Country Community Center was designed with a Farmers Market in mind. In addition to the playground, event stage, public art pieces, basketball court, fields and beautiful walking trails, the Mercado area was envisioned to host a Farmers Market. The new Canyon Country Farmers Market will take place on Wednesday nights beginning on April 27. Offering the freshest produce you can get, picked and brought to market often within 24 to 48 hours, the new farmers market will host local farmers and food artisans. For more information, make sure to follow the Canyon Country Farmers Market on Facebook.
