Community In Focus
February, 2015 - Issue #124

"Visiting Angels has been a PROUD Celebrity Waiter table sponsor for the past three years and I have been on the organizing committee for two years. I've observed first-hand the value of the programs and services the Center provides seniors in the SCV. This wonderful event is a major fundraiser for the Senior Center, which is so deserving of all of our support."
Geneva Knoles of Visiting Angels 263-2273
Craving kitsch? Looking for a fun way to support the SCV Senior Center's essential programs like home-delivered meals, respite care, the Handyworker program, site services and more?

The Celebrity Waiter Dinner is your answer. Each year, guests decorate their group's tables thematically, dress up to match the year's focus (This year guests are asked to reach back into memories of vacations past to honor their favorite spots. 2015's theme is "Cities Around the World.") and have a blast while raising money for one of the SCV's most treasured nonprofits.

Held on Saturday, February 21 at the Hyatt Regency Valencia, the Celebrity Waiter Dinner allows sponsors to choose their city of choice (First come, first serve, of course!) - and really ham it up.

"Volunteer" waiters who compete for "tips" (Donations to the Center.) are allowed to do pre-event fundraising that will be counted towards their final tallies. The "waiter" with the best tips wins the much-coveted Favorite Waiter award. In addition to each waiter's fun-filled antics, live entertainment and music will round out the exciting evening.
Premium tables to this memorable event are available now. Event co-chairs Tracy Hauser and Greg Nutter have set a fundraising goal of $100,000 net - and they need your help to meet it! Further information and table sponsorship reservations can be obtained by calling the SCV Senior Center. 259-9444, extension 144

GIVE WHERE YOU LIVE SCV
There's no greater path for a child to take than the right one. For nearly 2,400 local young people ages 7 to 17, that path begins at the Santa Clarita Valley Boys & Girls Club, a place where they learn and grow. With two locations, the club provides tutoring and homework help; daily programming geared toward academics, healthy lifestyles, character and leadership development; along with a variety of art and technology programs. Through your generosity, the Boys & Girls Club will continue to build a brighter future for the children of the Santa Clarita Valley. The need is great and the return on your investment... priceless. Make a difference to help put a child on a path to a great future. Consider making a donation to the Santa Clarita Valley Boys & Girls Club at
