"Light the Night" in Support of Blood Cancer Fighters and Survivors
Light The Night Walk is a fundraising campaign of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) that brings together families and communities to honor blood cancer survivors, as well as those lost to the diseases, and shine a light on the importance of finding cures and providing access to treatments for blood cancer patients.

"Over 1 million Americans are living with blood cancer; every three minutes someone new is diagnosed and every 10 minutes someone LOSES THEIR BATTLE."
Light the Night is a family-friendly event featuring activities for kids, a festival area, inspirational programming highlighting cancer patients and quiet areas for reflection and remembrance. The walk itself is roughly 1.5 miles designed for all ages and fitness levels and takes place in the evening. Survivors carry white lanterns during the walk, supporters carry red lanterns and participants carry gold lanterns in honor or memory of a loved one.

The walk in Santa Clarita has provided hope and support for over a decade - and the fight continues. Over 1 million Americans are living with blood cancer; every three minutes someone new is diagnosed and every 10 minutes someone loses their battle. Leukemia still causes more deaths than any other childhood cancer. The Santa Clarita community has proudly fundraised over $1.8 million through the walk since 2005.

Last year, Light the Night campaigns in the California Southland chapter area raised over $2.4 million toward the mission of LLS, attracted over 10,000 walkers, with campaign materials creating awareness reaching over 100,000 people.

The organization's goal is to see all of those numbers grow and to continue to offer a meaningful, enriching experience to the companies and individuals who participate in Light the Night. In turn, the funds raised through Light the Night will further widen reach toward curing blood cancer and supporting patients and their families.
