"No one who had ever seen Catherine Moreland in her infancy would have supposed her born to be a heroine." With that line, Jane Austen opens and sets the scene of her beloved first novel, "Northanger Abbey." When Catherine is invited as a traveling companion for a holiday in cosmopolitan Bath, England, she is removed from the mundane setting of her life, where reading Gothic novels was one of her only means of entertainment. Those novels form her romanticized ideal of the world that she hopes will be fulfilled during her time in Bath. The Master's University Theatre Arts Department, in an adaptation by Matthew Francis, presents this mysterious, fun and comic love story about a girl with her head in the clouds who learns living a life like those presented in the novels may not be as exciting or romantic as reality. It's a tale we are all familiar with; a coming of age story each of us have experienced in our own variation. With the charm and wit only Austen can bring, the heart and life only live theatre done by The Master's University can accomplish, this production is not one you will want to miss! 362-2255

You know what's maddening? Watching the light at Valencia and McBean turn green, then yellow, then red... without moving an inch. If your're going to sit in SCV traffic, at least make it worth your time. Just think: You could advertise and promote your business during your 30-minute commute from Canyon Country to Stevenson Ranch at the wrong time of day. Having a custom wrap on your company vehicles is a great way to advertise what you do and who you are. The team at Genesis 1 Auto Concepts can work with you to make a great design for your ride. Visit their showroom to see what a difference a vinyl wrap can make. www.g1autoconcepts.com
