Being Inside SCV's resident foodie is hard work - but somebody's gotta do it! Every time I lay out our Eat, Drink & Play section, I find myself drooling over the possibilities. The past 20 years have been a delicious adventure, and we've loved sharing our favorites with you. This month, I'm spotlighting the creme de la creme from the last two decades.
Since the late '90s, we've been gathering with our besties at Wolf Creek Restaurant and Brewing Co. Every meal starts with their mouthwatering Taos Egg Rolls and a hand-crafted brew and ends with one of Megan's Cakes. Our favorites toggle between the rich, decadent chocolate cake and the crave-worthy carrot cake - it's hands down, my favorite carrot cake in town. That cream cheese frosting is to die for.

Then there's Salt Creek Grille. This American steakhouse keeps us coming back again and again. My go-to meal? The melt-in-your-mouth Salt Creek Grille Meatloaf paired with their creamy gorgonzola mac. Other must-haves include the Creek Burger (You had me at bacon jam.), Chicken Roulade and the Chilean Sea Bass.
Pro tip: Order the show-stopping Chocolate Ganache Souffle with your meal - it's made to order and takes 25 minutes to prepare.
(P.S. I may have gotten married here just so I could guarantee every guest an unforgettable meal. Mission accomplished!)

Looking for something special in Old Town? Pop into The Old Town Junction. Lord help us, the craft cocktails are spectacular - and the mocktails are just as impressive! It's the perfect spot for a girls' night out. We love grabbing a drink at the bar before a show and sharing a spread of delicious appetizers. From Fried Chicken Mac to Kalbi Tacos, there's something for everyone. It's also a fabulous date-night destination. My husband is a fan of the slow-roasted prime rib, while I love to mix it up - everything on the menu is beautifully presented and flawlessly prepared.

When it comes to breakfast, my go-to is the award-winning Marston's Restaurant.
If you like starting the day with a sweet treat, The Works French Toast is, well, fantastic! It's their already-famous Fantastic French Toast topped with fresh berries, candied pecans, and whipped cream - a dream-worthy dish. Prefer savory? Don't miss the Pulled Pork Benedict. The slow-roasted pork is seasoned to perfection. And on those hot-like-fire summer days, I cool off with the California Orange Salad. The mandarin oranges and ginger dressing are incredibly refreshing.

Busy weeknights used to stress me out - until Q & Q Hawaiian BBQ came along. Their family meals are a hit at my house: delicious, affordable and satisfying. We love the crispy yet light Katsu Chicken and the melt-in-your-mouth Kalbi Short Ribs, served with sticky white rice and classic mac salad. It's comfort food with a fresh island twist.
