SCVi to Host College Info Nights
Charter School Invites Community
to Learn About College Planning

SCVi Charter School is inviting college-bound students and their parents to a series of free informational events to help families plan for college.

January 25: High School Information Night
A SCVi college counselor will provide information about the excellent colleges that have accepted graduates from SCVi's first two graduating classes. The evening will also offer information on SCVi high school learners' options, including the International Baccalaureate program, arts and literature opportunities, sports programs, internships and the ability to take classes at College of the Canyons. The event begins at 6pm in the Shakespeare Theater.

January 25: Looking Forward to College -
What Needs to Happen Between Now and September 1

College planning expert Anne Cochran will provide this special presentation for 11th-grade learners and parents to help guide them through the very important junior year of high school, when many key actions need to be taken and deadlines need to be met in preparation for the transition from high school to college. The presentation begins at 7pm in the Etta James Room at SCVi.

February 23: Everything You Need to Know
about College but Were Afraid to Ask

This presentation for ninth- and 10th-grade learners and their parents is geared toward maximizing each learner's educational experience with the intention of earning the best possible four-year college placement. Topics are scheduled to include different kinds of colleges, information on financial aid, navigating the application process and more. The event begins at 7pm in the Shakespeare Theater at SCVi.
SCVi offers project-based kinder-to-12 curriculum and student-led assessment with global and culturally-diverse influences. www.ileadschools.org

New Year, New Records Broken at Legacy Christian Academy
Legacy Christian Academy ended 2015 with a remarkable coup - the kinder-through-eighth private Academy was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, one of only 50 in the entire country to earn the highly-impressive accolade. Now the Christ-exalting campus is ready to start the New Year strong, with record-breaking numbers that bode well for the over-426 students (A record!) who proudly call themselves Lions.
