"The culture at Legacy is committed to the comprehensive education of the student. The faculty, staff and administration are unified in their commitment to academic achievement that targets the transformation of the learner. This unifying component between learning inside the classroom to life outside the classroom gives every student and their family the chance to be truly educated. Legacy's commitment to a Biblical worldview dynamically transforms academic achievement into a comprehensive education of the whole person. This comprehensive education unifies academic achievement, cultural enrichment, personal development and spiritual care within an intentionally-Biblical environment - and it has been transformational for our children and our family. The choice is clear - Legacy Christian Academy is the best investment for a distinctively-Christian education that truly prepares our children for 21st-century success and influence."

Legacy Christian Science Lab Renovation Completes "Discovery Hall"
Built-in terrariums and aquariums that can be viewed from inside the classroom - and out. Classroom technology that rivals the tools found at the best universities. An immersive visual and auditory experience that replicates the environments students are learning about in real time. State-of-the-art lab equipment that reveals science facts coupled with an academically-accelerated curriculum that cultivates a pragmatic, critically-engaged, forward-thinking understanding of the world in which we live. And that's just for starters.

Legacy Christian Academy's new Science Lab, which opened to applause this fall semester on the well-appointed Valencia campus, is just one part of Legacy's Discovery Hall - a ground-breaking allocation of space and resources that has permanently secured the Academy's nickname, "Legacy Tech."
"With the addition of our new Science Lab, which is adjacent to Legacy's Innovation Lab that we launched last school year, we've positioned our campus community for incredible success in not only the STEM field, but in life," says Tim Borruel, Legacy co-founder and superintendent. "Today's and tomorrow's global economy requires engagement from innovators who can identify, address and solve problems that are complex and impactful. We're not just 'teaching facts' in this space, we're creating new cognitive pathways in the brain that will empower our learners to best adapt to an ever-changing world."

"The Discovery Hall invites you to step into the world of STEAM and witness God's creativity on display. It's home to a king crab, a puffer fish, several seahorses and numerous fish and living coral. We even have our very own Nemo and Dory. We also have a tarantula, gecko, chameleon, scorpion, snake, several lizards and many more residents. Each unique creature magnifies God's creative power in a very real way. The Discovery Hall is also a place where student creativity will be on display. We have added art classes to our fourth-through-sixth-grade weekly schedule in an effort to effectively incorporate Art into STEM, making it STEAM. As the year progresses, you will see selected student work and famous artwork along the wall," shares Matt Millett, Legacy's head of school.

Right now, you can book a tour of Legacy's Science and Innovation Labs, as well as the rest of the high-tech campus.

Meet Chaminade College Preparatory
Chaminade College Preparatory is a co-educational Catholic school in the Marianist tradition serving more than 2,000 students in grades sixth through 12. Their unique seven-year learning experience offers a rigorous academic curriculum and diverse extracurricular activities. They prepare students for success in college and beyond while fostering in them deep moral values and commitment to service that is grounded in the Catholic faith. Beginning in the fall of 2017, Chaminade will offer the AP Capstone Program. The Collegeboard's AP Capstone program is an innovative, engaging college-level two-year program for high school students that complements and enhances discipline-specific AP courses. It is built on two new courses - AP Seminar and AP Research - that immerse students in the practice of critical thinking skills needed to distinguish themselves in college and in life. AP Capstone encourages a passion for learning and transforms students into curious, collaborative and independent thinkers with skills that are valued and sought after by colleges and universities. Students at Chaminade are engaged in their learning through a curriculum that emphasizes student-centered learning.

Collaboration among students is facilitated through project-based learning and the use of their one-to-one tablet-based technology. Tablet PCs are issued to all students and course content is delivered in a relevant and interactive manner, enabling students to take an active role in their learning. Chaminade continuously integrates technology into the learning environment and continues to seek new ways for it to enhance the learning process.

Have you been putting off getting the bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree you need to advance in your career? Go to an open house at the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center located on the College of the Canyons Valencia campus and find out just how doable getting your degree really is! Top Reasons to Take a Tour at SCVi Charter School
The leadership team at SCVi Charter School is proud of what they have to offer for families with kids in all grades, from TK through 12. They love giving tours to families who want to know more about the unique, tuition-free public charter school, where they emphasize real-world learning and the social-emotional development of the whole child. Here are five favorite reasons to tour SCVi this fall!

Sports! At SCVi they may have a smaller sports program than some of the larger schools, but it packs a mighty punch, and allows all students who want to play, to play. No bench warming here.

Small classes! Smaller class sizes allow for teachers and staff to give your child the individual attention they deserve.
Individualized learning

plans! Whether your child needs extra help or is advanced, they will engage your student where they are and guide their academic achievement even further than you might imagine.
Social-emotional learning!

No matter what their GPA is, or what school your child graduates from, they will need social-emotional skills to get ahead, maneuver in today's rapidly changing world and be the leaders our world is looking for.

Project-based learning! SCVi students learn by doing. At all levels, SCVi's learners are asked to complete projects with real-world applications, which teaches them how to think independently and to collaborate, too.
