Inside SCV's Field Trip of the Month
Apple Picking at Snow-Line Orchard in Oak Glen
In the mountain area of Oak Glen, you'll discover an apple-lover's delight:
Snow-Line Orchard. At 118 years old, the historic site is one of the closest spots to Santa Clarita for apple picking - but guests make the trek for more than just their sweet, crisp fruit.
Visit the apple-packing shed, cider mill and winery - then make your way to their store for gifts and artisan foods like vinegars, jams, wine, honey and pickled veggies.
Check the orchard's social media accounts for their daily list of apples; they grow over 35 varieties that ripen at different times.
Your drive will take about two hours each way, so make the most of your trip. While you're there, visit the other quaint farms and businesses in town. The five-mile loop makes it easy to explore the community while enjoying the cool, crisp mountain air.

The Master's University Sets Campus Record
The Master's University recently welcomed a record-setting number of incoming students to its Newhall campus.
In all, 443 new students enrolled at TMU for the fall 2022 semester, which began August 29. The incoming class pushed TMU's overall on-campus population to 1,146.
This represents a 32-percent increase from the school's enrollment in 2018, with net increases to nearly every major the school offers.
This year's incoming class included students from 33 states and 24 countries. Overall, TMU's on-campus population now features students from 42 states and more than 30 countries. Including record support from generous donors, TMU students received nearly $16 million in institutional aid this year, with 99 percent of students receiving some form of financial assistance.
The incoming students, all of whom signed a statement of faith and provided a pastor's reference, chose from TMU's approximately 85 on-campus undergraduate programs - all taught from a biblical worldview and governed by the school's unwavering commitment to Christ and Scripture.
Through rigorous academics and vibrant campus life, TMU's mission is to equip men and women for lives of kingdom influence in their families, the local church and in the careers God calls them to. In recent years, TMU has added new market-relevant degree programs, opening the door for more students to receive a Christ-centered liberal arts education.
In 2022, TMU added degrees in mechanical engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, sports management, interdisciplinary studies and entrepreneurial studies.

Learn About "The Legacy Way" During Upcoming Information Nights
The "Legacy way" is a deeply-embedded culture that impacts every member of the Legacy Christian Academy family, from administration to teachers, tiny Kinders to confident 10th graders.
"We've very consciously created a community that values respect, kindness and hearts for others," explains Head of School Matt Millett. "Cultivating Christ-like character traits is part of a Legacy education."
That character education includes numerous hands-on service projects, a sister school in Uganda and weekly Chapel events, giving parents an assurance that their children are developing spiritually as well as academically.
But it's the academic success that has brought the Valencia Academy nation-wide acclaim. Winner of the National Blue Ribbon for Excellence award - a very rare feat for a private school - Legacy's test scores consistently place the Academy in the top 8 percent of campuses in the US.
"Parents choose Legacy because of our accelerated academics, exceptionally-talented teaching staff, in-demand enrichments and character education - all rooted in our Christian culture," shares Millett.
Upcoming Information Nights include the Kindergarten event on October 27, Middle School Night on November 2 and Legacy's High School Info Night on October 20. Call for details.
