Upper Campus Expansion
July, 2023 - Issue #222

For over 25 years, Legacy has sharpened the minds and shepherded the hearts of thousands of Santa Clarita children - and now the Valencia academy has solidified that legacy with the purchase of the adjacent RE/MAX of Valencia building.
"There's never been a higher demand for quality schools in recent history - and campuses that fuse academic exceptionalism with a distinctly Christian culture are in short supply," explains Matt Millett, Legacy Christian Academy's head of school. "This acquisition will not only improve the experience of every current Legacy student but will set the stage for future academic innovation for generations of students to come."
What's Next
No time has been lost as Legacy leadership collaboratively prepare the new building for fall semester classes and enrichments.
"The building is being converted into premium educational spaces. We are reevaluating our current Lower Campus rooms to identify ways this acquisition can have the most positive impact on all grades and are working to craft a new foundation for an updated campus that will improve the experience of every Legacy learner," says Stacie Zorichak, Legacy's associate head of school.
"We have a reputation for building stunning, innovative spaces that inspire creativity and outside-the-box thinking," shares George Lopez, elementary dean of activities and spiritual life. "From our Discovery Hall to our exceptionally-equipped Science Lab, state-of-the-art Media Room and much more, Legacy has always prioritized classrooms that make hands-on learning experiences captivating, enriching and inspiring."
"We'll be strengthening our popular enrichment options for all grades and expanding our space for tech-driven courses ranging from podcasting to digital photography and robotics," says Millett. "Legacy has always provided accelerated academics in a Christian culture. Our award-winning educators foster the critical thinking and discernment skills this generation needs to address our world's most pressing concerns. Now, we'll have the square footage to streamline and improve efficiency for every grade level."

Legacy Christian, Grace Church Family of Ministries & The Master's University
A Partnership Built on Faith

"The Grace Church Family of Ministries, the MacArthur Trust, The Master's University and the Legacy Board of Directors have made this purchase possible," explains Donna Borruel, co-founder and director of education emeritus of Legacy. "Their financial generosity, sphere of influence and faith-filled vision for Legacy's growth and expansion made this dream a reality."
"The expansion of the Upper Campus will have massive scholastic and spiritual impact. Legacy High, along with our middle school, will now have room to grow - and we'll be able to launch the Legacy Learning Center," says Tim Borruel, co-founder and superintendent emeritus at Legacy.
In partnership with The Master's University, Legacy learners can now benefit from dual-credit classes and earn college coursework units while still in high school. Online college courses and collegiate-level sports facilities, including baseball and softball fields as well as TMU's state-of-the-art gym, are also now available to Legacy students. Thanks to the TMU partnership, Legacy has been approved as a CIF-member school and will be offering varsity sports including Boys and Girls Tennis; Boys and Girls Track and Field; Boys and Girls Swim; Boys and Girls Cross Country; Boys Basketball; Girls Water Polo; and Baseball in the fall.
"Our partnerships have given a massive boost to our academic and athletic programs," shares Tim Borruel.
