"My Name is Emily Hanna and I'm 14 years old. I have been a student at the Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts since 2013. Within the first minute of walking in the building, everyone made me feel comfortable. I learned how to prepare for an audition, acting fundamentals, memorization and modeling. The owner, Mike, was very approachable and was always available to answer all of my questions. The teachers at SCSOPA are terrific and have always believed in me. As an actress, it has helped me gain confidence and self-esteem. My teacher Mr. Mike D. helped me so much! One of my dreams was to be on set - and I was able to experience it! I was in a commercial for Church's Chicken, directed by Pat Sherman. SCSOPA has many of LA's top agents visit the school. I signed with M.O. Kids within three months of being at SCSOPA. Soon after that, I had many more auditions. The best part of my day is going to SCSOPA to learn more about acting. Being an actress has been my dream for so long and Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts made it happen. I would like use this opportunity to thank all of the teachers and staff at SCSOPA, my agent and my family for their support."

ATA Martial Arts Students Take Home Medals from World Championships
The ATA Songahm World Expo is an annual event held in Little Rock, Arkansas that draws nearly 20,000 competitors and spectators from over six continents around the world. The expo includes Top 10 competitions in which martial artists fight for the coveted title of World Champion. This year's event was held in July and ATA Martial Arts, owned and operated by sixth-degree Master Instructor Gavin Espinosa of Stevenson Ranch, brought 11 competitors to the event, seven of which came in among the Top 10. Of those seven, they came back with three bronze medals, one silver medal and two gold medals, boasting another two World Champions from Santa Clarita.

Congratulations to...
Kierstin Kimbell, 14, from Castaic - World Champ Gold medalist
Andrei Mojica, 13, from Valencia - World Champ Gold Medalist
Jordyn Call, 10, from Stevenson Ranch - Bronze Medalist
Jason Kivi, Chief Instructor, age 29, from Newhall - Bronze Medalist

Overall, ATA Martial Arts brought home 26 medals, the most they ever earned on any given year out of their 18 years in business.

Sustained Swimming Excellence
is the Goal of Paseo Aquatics

With over 3,000 residents moving to Santa Clarita each year, the 2016 Summer Olympics nearing and America's second-most-popular youth sport on the rise, Co-founders Chris Dahowski and Jay Wolf took advantage of the timing - as well as a tremendous leap of faith - to form Paseo Aquatics, only the Valley's second USA Swimming Sanctioned swim club.
Establishing its roots at The Paseo Club in Valencia, with no more than three swimmers and a mantra of "Where Dreams and Water Meet," Paseo Aquatics grew in size - closing on 200 swimmers - and stature as one of the area's premier swim clubs. It built its fast-growing reputation on the education of competitive swimmers - from Novice to Olympic hopefuls - who were seeking the right environment to pursue their dreams with inspiration, dedication and swim discipline.
The team's mission is simple: to cultivate a healthy, supportive, training-centered program conducive to sustained swimming excellence. Paseo Aquatics pursues the highest level of swim instruction, strength-building and conditioning using the latest equipment and sport philosophies to generate a positive environment - one that prepares every athlete for short-term goals and long-term success. It just takes a dream - and water!

"Groom-a-Therapy" Treatments Come to You & Benefit Shelter Animals
The family owned and operated Go Hollywood Dog Grooming offers more than mobile grooming services - they offer pampering "groom-a-therapy" options that will make you and your pet smile!

Choose from services like Blueberry Facials and lavender essential oil mini-massage treatments. They will treat your pet to the full grooming experience and will make the kids grin, too. Many SCV clients book appointments when their children are home so that the little ones can watch Fido receive his pampering transformation.

And, when you treat your furbaby to a quality grooming experience, you're helping Go Hollywood support their Hollywood Rescue Grooming Foundation. The org brings hope and saves live through their team of "fur faeries" who take the company's fleet of five mobile pet spas to animal shelters all over the county and beyond. The team of volunteers makes the unwanted dogs feel and look their very best to improve their chances of adoption.

The volunteerism is good for the heart, but it also makes good sense. The treatments' result is that 89 percent of the homeless pets who receive a grooming session are rescued within days, sometimes just hours, after their transformational makeovers. 888-665-7766
