Dance Studio 84 Presents "The Nutcracker Ballet" with Over 180 Ballerinas
For over 30 years, Dance Studio 84 has been performing "Nutcracker" right here in Santa Clarita! Each year, guests have come to expect thrilling new choreography, professional costumes and the dedication of more than 180 ballerinas.
"The Nutcracker" is the story of Clara, a girl who receives a nutcracker from her Uncle Drosselmeir, while her rambunctious little brother, Fritz, is gifted with a toy mouse. After their family's joyful Christmas party is over, Clara falls asleep and dreams that her nutcracker and Fritz's mouse come to life. They battle, the nutcracker wins and turns into her prince who then takes Clara through the Snow Forest and to the Land of the Sweets, where all of the beautiful ballerinas perform for them. At the end of the show, Clara wakes up to realize it was just an amazing, wonderful dream.
Dance Studio 84's production will take place at the Hart High School Auditorium on December 16 and December 17. All of their ballet students will be performing, but those who desired lead roles attended auditions in August. Some of the highlighted dancers include Nicolette Neglia as Clara, Jacob White as the Prince, Morgan McNey as the Sugarplum Fairy, Olivia Aquilina as the Dewdrop Fairy and Regan Lowry as the Snow Queen. Every one of these local students have worked so hard to make this a spectacular show that you won't want to miss! For ticket information, call Dance Studio 84. 775-7655

"About 32 years ago, I dreamed of living in the Performing Arts World, having done performances in theater, arts, band and dance. Well, it took 32 years - but I eventually discovered the Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts in 2021 and my experience at the school has been nothing short of amazing. My first class was a two-hour runway fashion modeling class with the legendary Jade Aubuchon, a professional model and dancer. She helped train me for the first six months to perform in my first-ever runway show at Macy's in December 2021, a day I will cherish forever. In 2022, I continued on with the modeling program, training under the direction of the legendary Tara Rice, a former See's Candy Barbie supermodel and professional model and dancer. Since then, I have performed in 10 runway fashion shows, four with JCPenney and six with Macy's. In addition to modeling classes, there is the acting program at the school. In both programs, the teachers are experienced with Hollywood acting backgrounds. Every teaching style is unique and the coaching is amazing! As of now, I'm applying and auditioning for print jobs and more runway fashion shows. I'm starting my journey into the acting world as well. Stay tuned!"

Canyon Theatre Guild Presents Family Favorite "Elf: The Musical" Starting November 24
Bringing back their hit show from 2019, Canyon Theatre Guild kicks off the holiday season with "Elf: The Musical" starting November 24. Opening night will have a free wine and champagne reception, live caroling and lots of Christmas spirit!
Based on the beloved film, this magical production follows the hilarious misadventures of Buddy, a young orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole.
The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh realities that his father is on the naughty list and his half-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.
This amazing show sold out nearly every performance the last time it was on this stage - and now it returns to spread more Christmas cheer. The holidays are a special time at the Canyon Theatre Guild, with amazing decorations, caroling and hot apple cider. It has become a tradition for many families from the SCV and beyond to make the CTG a part of their holiday season. Reserve your tickets early so you don't miss a moment of the magic!
Tickets are $23 for adults and $19 for seniors and juniors. For showtimes or to reserve tickets, log on.

Gift Yourself the Present of Prevention
"I really regret not coming in sooner."
That's what moms say way too frequently, says Dr. Marvin Tong, DDS. "What started as a small cavity became a bigger cavity, then a cracked tooth, then a root canal or extraction," says the longtime SCV-favorite family dentist. "It always breaks our hearts to see moms come in with their kids twice a year, on the dot, but then put off their own oral care until they're in pain or require more significant dental work."
"As a mom myself, I absolutely understand how easy it is to put our own needs on the backburner," shares Becky Short, Dr. Marvin Tong's longtime office manager. "I frequently wonder, though, what we're teaching our kids - especially our daughters - about how we want them to prioritize their health when they're parents themselves. I've recently made an intentional practice to let my kids know that I'm consistently scheduling all my health check ups - because I want them to do the same when they're older. Plus, it's just nice to know that I'm doing everything I need to do to protect my health and prevent bigger issues down the line."
