"Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts coaches are a true blessing for actors and parents! They are a wealth of knowledge about the industry and audition submissions, too. My daughter secured an agent in less than 30 days thanks to them! Due to the myriad of classes offered, my child was able to explore various interests like voiceovers and modeling. 'Zoom Acting, Scene and Character Study' with Coaches Karen and Marina enhanced my child's confidence and almost immediately led to key theatrical roles in several musical plays. DeArie has embraced the professional training at SCSOPA. She is committed to bringing creativity and excellence to the stage in dancing, singing and acting. She steps into the spotlight with heartfelt expressions and is always ready to showcase her full potential! Her next debut is 'Annie: The Musical.' She's also done 'Wonka,' 'Descendants' and more! Traveling from Eastvale, California is daunting with traffic - I'm so glad we took a chance on Zoom classes! The interaction and results are equivalent to attending live sessions because the coaches go above and beyond to help your child succeed."

This Dentist Wants your Kids to Eat Candy on Halloween
There are 365 days in a year. So what if a handful of those include big servings of sweet stuff?
That's the perspective of Dr. Marvin Tong, DDS, who wants parents to know: One night of candy in excess isn't going to "ruin" your children's overall oral health.
The goal, says Dr. Tong, is to raise kids who understand that most things can be enjoyed in thoughtful moderation - and that we can have fun with candy on Halloween, especially when we are smart about keeping our other healthy practices in place while we do it.
"Our office stresses the importance of a balanced, healthy diet; subbing water for sugar-filled beverages when possible; twice-daily brushing and nightly flossing," says Office Manger Becky Short.
"In my own family, we start Halloween celebrations with a filling, nutrient-dense meal so that the kids don't have so much 'room' to really gorge on candy and we have a rule that you can't have soda and candy at the same time - you have to choose," says Short. "And, no matter how tired we are, we always end the evening with a good brushing."
