Over the course of 30 years, the Gillson family's home expansions had created enough room for the large chef's kitchen the homeowners had long envisioned, with the layout revised to improve both workflow and everyday enjoyment.
With a remodel by Lenton Company, thoughtful details abound. Take, for example, the custom real-wood ceiling beams that add warmth and architectural character. Recessed lighting was carefully positioned between the ceiling beams, while pendant lights above the island and wall sconces along the back kitchen wall provide additional layers of illumination.


Relocating the dedicated coffee bar makes better use of the available space while creating an attractive, organized destination for preparing and serving the morning's brew. Thoughtful storage details - including pullout spice racks, tray storage and deep drawers - complete a kitchen designed as carefully for cooking as it is for gathering.


The formal dining room was updated to complement the kitchen while retaining its own sense of timeless elegance. New white cabinetry and Taj Mahal quartzite countertops provide generous built-in storage and display space beneath the room's existing Tudor-style beveled diamond glass windows. Floating glass shelves supported by satin bronze finish brackets provide an airy display area for glassware and serving pieces while visually connecting the nook to the room's other finishes.
