10 Commandments of Healthy Eating: Beware of Saturated Fats
Not all fats are created equal. Although some fats positively affect our health, it is also important to remember that other fats, like saturated fats, can raise cholesterol in your blood and increase your risk of heart disease. Saturated fats have a chemical makeup in which the carbon atoms are saturated with hydrogen atoms (hydrogenation) and are typically solid at room temperature. Saturated fats are found naturally, mostly from animal sources including fatty beef, lamb, pork, poultry with skin, cream, butter, cheese, etc. In addition, many baked goods and fried foods can contain high levels of saturated fats. The American Heart Association recommends limiting the amount of saturated fats you eat to less than 7 percent of total daily calories. You should replace foods high in saturated fats with foods that are rich in the essential fatty acids like omega 3s and 6s, like fish and nuts.

Walking to Reduce Stress
A study in November, 1999 published in the Annals of Behavioral Medicines proved that moderate exercise walking on a regular basis lowered stress levels. A daily 20 to 30 minute stroll toward relaxation helps improve bad moods by calming the nerves and producing endorphins that improve one's overall well-being. Also, their recommendations state that before beginning a walking regimen one should get fitted properly for a good pair of running shoes, because running shoes provide better support and shock absorption.

Better Solutions for Shin Splints
Shin splints refer to leg pain between the knee and ankle that is caused by damage or inflammation of those tendons and muscles. There are many ways to treat shin splints. Rest, ice and anti-inflammatory medications are a good temporary fix, though they won't treat the root of the problem. To treat the cause of the pain, you'll need exercise and arch supports. Stretching and strengthening exercises can also help take pressure off the shins, and prevent shin splints from reoccurring as your muscles get stronger.

Testosterone may be the Answer for Aging
Testosterone is a natural hormone produced by both men and women. Treatment with testosterone can restore the quality of life that often slips away in middle age, relieving the most obvious signs of aging: fatigue, weakness and loss of interest in life. This remarkable hormone also stimulates the libido in many patients. Testosterone can be taken via tablets, creams or injections, and when appropriately prescribed, is both safe and effective. Always consult a physician who is experienced in this diagnosis and treatment of testosterone deficiency syndrome.
