Feel Happier in 15 Minutes
by Heather Flebbe, MS, ACSM

Happy in 15 minutes? Yes, it can be done! Get up out of your chair right now and start with 10 jumping jacks, 10 squats and five push-ups. Now do 15 jumping jacks, 15 squats and 10 push-ups. Keep going with 20 jumping jacks, 20 squats and 10 push-ups until you reach 15 minutes. Do you feel the euphoria? What a difference 15 minutes can make! I bet you'd feel happier even if you only did 5 minutes! Research shows a direct link between exercise and happiness. People who exercise on a regular basis tend to be happier over the long term. Not only do you get an immediate boost of endorphins (AKA "happiness!"), but exercise can make you feel happier because...

• People who exercise are more resistant to diseases
• Exercise increases serotonin levels and endorphins
• Exercise can increase antibodies of the immune system by 300 percent
• Exercise with a friend or music and you get an even bigger boost
• Increase your exercise intensity and increase endorphin levels
• Walk for 10 minutes and increase your energy for hours hours after
• 30 minutes of exercise has been shown to improve sleep
• Grow new brain cells pivotal to memory with exercise
Cycle with great friends and great music at Cycleup and feel happier every day!

Electrotherapy Treatment is the Equivalent to Six Hours of Strenuous Gym Exercise
It's not that you don't want to go to the gym... or even that you don't go at all. It's probably that, like most of us, you don't have the time to commit to working out as often as would be required for the results you crave.

If this summer is the summer you are determined to feel great about your figure, now's the time to consider ForeverSlim SCV. This state-of-the-art treatment stimulates your muscles at a deep cellular level, burning between 600 and 900 calories an hour while encouraging your deepest fat cells to release. During the comfortable session, your muscles will continuously contract, working on areas that are the hardest to address with even the best athletic trainer. You'll lose inches from the inside and outside of your thighs, your lower abdomen and the 'bra bulge" area.

Many clients lose up to 20 pounds a month with ForeverSlim's customizable programs, reporting that skin is smoother and muscles are tighter after only one treatment. The result is a body that can be cellulite free, jiggle free, strong and confident. Combine ForeverSlim with healthier eating for a fit figure you can't wait to show off year round. Runners Lane Challenge Group Logs Nearly 25,000 Miles
A little over a month ago, Runners Lane challenged its fans and their friends and families to run 60 miles over 30 days. Each person ran at least 60 miles over the last 30 days and they were able to get enough people involved that they ran enough miles to stretch all the way around the world. What started as a 6,000 mile challenge quickly grew to become the distance of the earth's circumference.

On Tuesday April 21, Runners Lane's band of enthusiasts ran the last two miles together, completing a total of 24,901 miles! This was a great event because people learned that they can achieve more when they have support from their friends and families. There were folks who didn't think they could even run two miles, much less two miles every day for 30 days. The group supported and inspired each other the whole way! 260-3368

An Introduction to Labia Majora Plasty
No one wants to talk about it. There aren't dozens of support groups for it. But for many women, the size of their labia significantly reduces the quality of their lives. It affects their clothing choices, their romantic relationships and, most importantly, their confidence and comfort in their own bodies.

Labia Majora Plasty, sometimes referred to as labiaplasty, is a surgical reduction of the size of the outer labia. Heredity, weight gain, childbirth and aging can lead to a larger vulva with either loose skin and/or excess tissue causing the size increase. This can result in an embarrassing appearance in pants, a bulge in swimsuits and even gym clothes, as well as significant discomfort. Today's pop culture refers to this "look" as "cameltoe" but those who experience it aren't snickering.

Using a special removal technique to hide the scar in the space between the inner and outer labia, the process can be completed in the office under local anesthesia. This procedure is completed in approximately 60 minutes with high patient satisfaction.

The procedure is offered locally by Dr. Courtenay Poucher of Aesthetic Center of Santa Clarita. Free, confidential consultations are available. 312-0497
