Dr. Kapil Moza is 2020's Super Doctor
August, 2020 - Issue #191

It's a bird, it's a plane... no, it's Dr. Kapil Moza, this year's Super Doctor - for the fifth time!
This prestigious award is a reflection of Dr. Moza's incredible surgical record, positive patient outcomes and personable bedside manner. According to the Super Doctor's website, "In selecting physicians for Super Doctors, MSP Communications employs a rigorous multi-step process designed to identify physicians who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement."
Dr. Moza is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in minimally-invasive and complex spine surgery. Dr. Moza utilizes minimally-invasive technologies that preserve normal physiologic motion whenever possible.
Dr. Moza is widely regarded as the leading expert in the region, with zero infections in nine consecutive years in addition with the highest patient satisfaction. As the area's foremost leader in spine surgery and neurosurgery, Dr. Moza has performed many successful surgical revisions for patients that underwent surgery elsewhere.
Dr. Kapil Moza was the first in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties to perform cervical artificial disc replacement in 2007. He now is the area's largest volume leader in Mobi-C artificial-disc procedures. Mobi-C is an artificial disc that is designed to maintain neck motion and is superior to fusion for two-level disc replacement. The specialist is the leader in motion preservation and expandable cage technology, eliminating the need for multi-stage surgical procedures.
Alongside the Super Doctor's recognition, Dr. Moza was once again named a Castle Connolly's Top Doctor. This prestigious, rare award is only granted to America's top doctors who have shown unmatched expertise, knowledge and have received the recommendation of colleagues in their medical profession.

Dr. Moza puts Patient Care First
With hundreds of five-star reviews online, Dr. Kapil Moza is as well known for his warm bedside manner as he is his incredible surgical outcomes. Here's just one recent review, submitted by patient Don Stark.
"For three weeks I suffered the most excruciating pain I have ever felt. A
fter trying all conventional measures to alleviate my pain, I got in right away
to see Dr. Moza, who suggested trying the least-invasive option to relieve my pain first. Unfortunately, the epidural provided no pain relief and Dr. Moza expedited getting me in for surgery two days later. During surgery, Dr. Moza performed a nerve conduction test before and after the procedure to accurately assess the results of the surgery.
The test is rarely - if ever - done because of the additional time it takes to perform it.
Dr. Moza, being a perfectionist, did the test. Dr. Moza removed a large two-centimeter extruded disc fragment that was twisted into the nerve root. This required a very delicate procedure to lift the nerve root in order to remove the fragment. If that was not enough,
Dr. Moza discovered a cyst that was on the nerve. Four years earlier, I was diagnosed with a condition called Foot Drop, leaving me unable to flex my foot and walk normally. I was told that this was due to nerve damage and there was nothing that could be done. Dr. Moza removed the cyst, which was not part of the original scope of the surgery. I no longer have Foot Drop! I cannot possibly thank Dr. Moza enough. He has given me a life-altering gift."
