Porcelain countertops were selected for their durability and subtle veining, offering a refined contrast to the wood tones while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic.
In this Shady Glen project, we transformed an underutilized area of the home into a layered bar and lounge space designed for both everyday living and effortless entertaining.
The zellege backsplash introduces subtle drama through layered texture and tonal variation, catching the light and adding movement without overpowering the palette. Floating white oak shelving above the bar offers an opportunity for curated styling. Glassware, ceramics and sculptural objects add personality and warmth.
The furniture palette was carefully curated to balance structure with softness. Lounge chairs with sculptural wood frames and deep, moody upholstery introduce contrast against the lighter millwork, while woven cane detailing adds an organic layer that echoes the natural materials throughout the space. A mix of soft textiles and tailored silhouettes creates a relaxed yet elevated seating arrangement, inviting conversation while maintaining a refined visual rhythm.
The goal was to create a cohesive moment - one that feels intentional, warm and architecturally integrated into the home rather than added on.
Behind the television, custom wall paneling introduces depth and rhythm through a reeded detail, adding a quiet layer of texture that feels both contemporary and timeless. Flanking the TV, sculptural wall sconces provide soft, ambient lighting and create a sense of symmetry.
A richly-layered floral wallpaper sets the tone, wrapping the powder bath in depth and drama while introducing an organic softness through hand-drawn botanicals. The pattern creates a striking contrast against the warm, muted roman clay finish on the remaining walls. Warm brass fixtures and an arched mirror introduce a refined glow, balancing the darker elements with a sense of warmth and polish. The custom vanity, finished in a white oak with reeded detailing, adds a tailored layer that feels curated but effortless.
This transformation reflects our design philosophy: spaces that are beautiful, functional and deeply intentional, where architectural detail and livability coexist in perfect balance.
