Through November 23, the Boys & Girls Club will present their annual Festival of Trees at the Westfield Valencia Town Center (www.scvbgc.org). For this feature we worked with a past Festival of Trees decorator who, even before children roam around neighborhoods saying "trick or treat," creates a Christmas wonderland in her home. Here, she shares her home decorating triumphs (along with a few tragedies!) and proves that "shopping local" is the key to creating gorgeous spaces.
Martin Avila and Fredye Gonzales are celebrating their 20th holiday season together. And, as is standard practice for the community-minded couple, they're spreading the joy to others. This year, their five-bedroom Spanish Hacienda home will serve as an exquisitely-festive destination for Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital's Holiday Home Tour.

Stevenson Ranch resident Spiro Razatos has served as a stunt director for films like "Fast & Furious," "Bad Boys II" and "Talladega Nights," but his impressive resume doesn't end at the cinema. With the guidance of interior designer Alia Marks of Alia Interior Design (733-0133), Razatos has transformed his suburban home into a Hollywood blockbuster.
Tammy and Les Delmarter will be celebrating their 30-year wedding anniversary this month. Over the last three decades, they've raised a son (David, now an attorney); founded a business (HR Technologies, a software development company in Newhall); and created a home (a Tuscan-inspired place in Stevenson Ranch) that embodies the California-style living they both love.
Anna Ott's Valencia home is a lot like her: classy but casual - with timeless style. Coincidence? Anything but. Interior designer Ruben Haynes, of Ruben Haynes Design, was intent on creating a fresh, elegant reflection of the homeowner - a look he refers to as "Old Hollywood."

at their favorite SCV bathrooms.
"The trend in design is to blend the interior with the exterior of your home. You can accomplish this flow with a cohesive color scheme, repetition of a texture or use of materials. These design tricks lead the eye from inside to outside and visually expands the living space."~Tami Smight
Style. Grace. Panache. Each month, Inside SCV Magazine features a local home that has all three qualities in spades. Choosing favorites is more than hard; it's near impossible. But after a round of intense debate (Who knew that some of us felt so strongly about chenille fabric?) we were able to reach a consensus.
Beverly Kirk wasn't the first person to own this four bedroom, four bathroom Stevenson Ranch home. But she was the first to really make it her own - in less than a year.
When you host Sunday dinner for 20 every week, your home can't just be lovely to look at. It must function beautifully, too.
Since studying French in high school, I have been enamored with all things French: cuisine, language and definitely French architecture and interior design. When it came time to decorate our Valencia home, naturally I turned to France for my inspiration.
Just off the family room, an inviting patio area offers quiet relaxation with its defined areas for dining, conversation and contemplation. My family celebrates outdoor living year 'round with relaxed furnishings, varied textures and romantic colors.
Spruce up your outdoor spaces with these great tips!
Some people collect stamps. Others, baseball cards. And though the answer to "What do you collect?" is limitless, most often the space to store it is not.
Whether you have a few seconds or a few weeks, we've compiled a listing of Quick Home Improvements that can make All the Difference
Manuela Marino has yet to complete her degree in fine arts, but she is already well on her way to finishing a masterpiece.

For 11 years, the College of the Canyons/ California State University, Northridge student has worked to personalize her family's five-bedroom, three-bath Stevenson Ranch home as only an artist can.
Gina Miles story can be told, at least in part, in numbers. Thirty is the number of years she's been married; five is the number of children she has raised. Greater than five is the number of grandchildren who call her house a second home (there's another on the way).
"Learn to live with it" may be how your grandparents dealt with less-than-ideal circumstances. But you? No. You're a "learn to love it" kind of person. Lucky for you, there are simple ways to turn the house you have into the home you want.
There are cabinets and furniture - dated and generic in style, function and materials. And then there are custom cabinets and furniture, created to serve you and your home for a lifetime.
Designed by Santa Clarita's finest contractors and loved by your SCV neighbors, these kitchens are proof positive that its the most popular room in the house for a reason.
