Our Favorite Al Frescos
July, 2015 - Issue #129

We want to extend a special "thank you" to all of the homeowners who
have invited us into their inspiring exterior spaces over the last 10 years.
We always left better than when we arrived after a "staycation" in your exquisite yards. It has been a great honor to share your gathering
places with our readers.

2007
ABOVE: This Sand Canyon home exemplified what we love about the classics: once a classic, always a classic.

BELOW: It took hours to style this Southern Oaks yard. We planted greenery and brought in all the candles and lightning. It was beautiful when we arrived but it was flawless when we left!

2008
LEFT: This home was pure nostalgia. If you sat in this vintage beauty you'd have the best view of the Bridgeport lighthouse.

RIGHT: We were told we had to see it to believe it. We were told right! This Enclaves oasis was also home to a trampoline that turned into a dance floor.

2009
Welcome to the happiest accident ever - driving through the Valencia Summit one day, I passed this home, knocked on the door and begged for them to let us photograph their magical yard. This landscape was "Happiest Place on Earth" perfection!

2009
We showed up for an interior home shoot and found this waiting for us in the backyard! These Woodlands homeowners will forever be known for their hospitality and really took our breath away with this perfect vignette.

2010
ABOVE: Inspired by a vacation to France, this homeowner in Northbridge created her own villa.

BELOW:This home in Stevenson Ranch made "minimalist" exactly what we were craving at the time. The homeowner was an artist and her home was her palette!

2011
Located in Valencia's Avignon, this yard reminded us that comfort and ambiance do not always require a ton of space. We love the charm of this drought-tolerant hardscape yard now more than ever.

2012
ABOVE: We found this Stevenson Ranch sanctuary while shooting the neighbor's home. So what if we peek out of upstairs windows into other people's backyards? If we hadn't, we never would have discovered this amazing space!

BELOW:This Westridge homeowner delighted us over the years with decadently-set tables and rooms styled to perfection.

2013
This custom Westridge estate was a work of art. Nestled into a hillside, it was completely private and vacation-worthy. Thankfully, the homeowners let us stay awhile - no passport was required!

2014
ABOVE:Yes please! This atrium in Westridge made us strongly consider being morning people.

BELOW:Located behind Granary Square in Valencia, this yard was everything this DIY homeowner promised it would be.

2015
Where Heaven and earth meet - Robinson Ranch! The best view in the valley belongs to this homeowner. If we had to live back here and never see the inside of a home again, that would be just dreamy.
