Traditionally Transitional in Valencia
August, 2019 - Issue #179

The former formal living room was a "walk past" space until it received a wine/coffee aficionado update. A narrow-width table adds a functional aesthetic element to the space. Sid Dickens Memory Block like this one, adorning a shelf in the entry, are now available at Refined Vintage Boutique (505-7175). The office's custom-painted chalkboard displays favorite quotes.

When Lisa and Robert Younkin first moved into their West Hills community home, a goal was set. "We wanted a house that exuded warmth - but still had clean lines and a very neutral palette," says Lisa Younkin. "I wanted to be able to add in our own pops of color, change it up with the holidays and seasons and revamp when we wanted to."

A vintage-inspired trunk offers storage and a sturdy surface. "We love our round dining table - you can see and talk to everyone," says Lisa Younkin.

The homeowners consulted with Rebecca Rollins of Rebecca Rollins Interiors (367-4394) to create a transitional space.

Quartz countertops, white subway tiles and gleaming pendent lights reflect a clean kitchen aesthetic.
"She was incredibly accommodating," says Younkin. "We had a great experience and loved how it turned out! It's been two years and we're still very happy with the results."
