RE/MAX of Santa Clarita & Valencia Creates a Culture of Community Commitment
January, 2016 - Issue #135

"RE/MAX has helped our community's homeless population for years. They are GREAT SUPPORTERS and believe in our mission to provide shelter for some of Santa Clarita's most vulnerable. People have a hard time believing that there's homelessness in 'Awesometown,' but without the kindness of businesses like RE/MAX, hundreds of our citizens, including families with children, would be exposed to the elements if not for the shelter and other homeless programs, especially this year - when El Nino could make conditions extraordinarily miserable, or even fatal."
Gary Choppe, fundraising chairman of Bridge to Home
When you're the owner of a real estate powerhouse with some of the best agents in the nation working under your roof, it could be easy to get caught up in a business-only mindset, especially during those long weeks and months without much of a break.

But for RE/MAX of Santa Clarita and Valencia Owner David Rendall, the opposite is true.

"We're a company that's committed to making the dream of homeownership come to fruition," he says. "And that means more than just handing over keys. It means being an active part of building a community that we can all be proud to call home."

One of the Santa Clarita resident's goals when purchasing the regional RE/MAX business was to use the company as a force for good. "We have so much talent in this organization," says Rendall. "These aren't just incredible Realtors®. These are incredible people. I wanted to cultivate a community of professionals who, both as a larger organization and as individuals, felt empowered to more significantly invest in the town they love, live in and work."

RE/MAX of Santa Clarita and Valencia is actively engaged in Santa Clarita nonprofit work, including events with the likes of Soroptimist International, the SCV Youth Project, Carousel Ranch, The Battle Buddy Foundation, Annual SCV Chili Cook-Off, Bridge to Home and many more. "Many of our associates donate more than money; they also deeply invest in these organizations with their time," says Rendall.

"RE/MAX and many of the Realtors® associated with this INCREDIBLE COMPANY have been amazing friends and partners to Carousel Ranch throughout the years. From support of our annual event, Heart of the West, to sponsorship of children and horses...their loving support has meant so much. Without this type of community support and partnership, Carousel Ranch simply wouldn't be what it is today."
Denise Tomey, executive director of Carousel Ranch

"RE/MAX of Santa Clarita, in their role as a sponsor, has helped make the MAGIC of the Valencia Jazz & Blues Concert Series accessible to thousands of SCV residents. Their commitment to the arts, our community and local charities is remarkable. They are as kind and caring as they are consummate professionals. It's a pleasure working with them to keep our community great."
Barbara Myler, president/CEO of Summit West Public Relations & Marketing & owner/producer of Valencia Jazz & Blues Concert Series

"The support the Youth Project has received from RE/MAX of Santa Clarita has been incredible. Not only is it one of financial support, but it also one that brings volunteers and partnership, which to a small non-profit like ours is immeasurable.RE/MAX of Santa Clarita and Valencia Owner David Rendall and his team, including Kathy Watterson, Realtor® and Youth Project board member, are prime examples of 'COMMUNITY' and giving. We're so grateful!"
Kim Goldman, executive director of SCV Youth Project
