How to Conquer an Office Relocation
Each company's space and equipment have its own unique demands. If your company is relocating, here's how can you best prepare before the moving crew arrives. First, use color-coded labels to designate furniture and boxes by each department and workstation. Everything should have a label - boxes, office furniture, area rugs, waste baskets, etc. Area rugs should be unloaded and placed before any office furniture is unloaded. Desk floor mats often fit a specific workstation. Be sure to label these mats so they arrive at their corresponding workstation. All filing cabinets - except for metal upright filing cabinets - need to be emptied prior to the move. Pack files into filing boxes. Keep the files in their proper order as you place them into the file box and clearly label the front and rear of the box to ensure accurate unpacking. Using book boxes, place your books into the box with the spine vertical, as they would sit on the shelf. Keep them in order from left to right as you pack to ensure accurate unpacking. Label the box accordingly. Wrap any books of value in paper before packing. Desks should be completely emptied before moving day. Use sandwich bags and/or small storage bags to keep staples and paper clips from escaping. Use packing paper and/or bubble wrap to protect fragile items and place them securely in a labeled box, using packing paper to ensure that they do not shift while en route. Carefully separate lamps into the base, shade and harp. Wrap all the lamp parts and place them into labeled boxes. With careful labeling and preparation, you and your company will arrive at the new site on time and ready for business Monday morning!

What to Consider Before Buying a Home
